I'm amazed that that's the best she could do in the three days she waited before going to police. I could have given her way better bruises that that if she asked nicely.

The video posted to start this thread is not a good angle. The video at the bottom of this post shows more. And battery doesn't take much. I know a woman who was convicted of battery for just grabbing another woman's hand and moving it when the other woman was shaking her finger in her face. Of course that happened in Louisiana and maybe the law is different in Florida. But if you put your hands on someone in any kind of aggressive way without permission, at least in Louisiana, that's battery.

There's also the audio captured immediately after the event and eye witness accounts. Here is a transcript of the audio (from http://www.politico.com/blogs/on-media/ ... ack-220589):
Fields: “Mr. Trump, you went after the late Scalia for affirmative action, do you -- are you still against affirmative action?"
Voice (allegedly Corey Lewandowski): “Excuse me, thank you.”
A few moments later (noise of the room can be heard)...
Terris: “You OK?"
Fields: “Holy sh*t."
Terris: “Yea he just threw you."
Fields: “I can’t believe he just did that that was so hard. Was that Corey?"
Terris: “Yeah, like, what threat were you?"
Fields: "That was insane. You should have felt how hard he grabbed me. That's insane. I’ve never had anyone do that to me from a campaign."
Terris: “Can I put that in my story?"
Fields: “Yeah, go for it — that was really awful. That’s so unprofessional.”
Terris: “He really just almost threw you on the ground."
Fields: “He literally went like this and was grabbing me down. "I don’t even want to do what he just did to me. Oh my God, that really spooked me that someone would do that."
Terris: “What threat were you?"
Fields: “Nothing. I was asking about affirmative action."
Terris: “And he probably knows you, right?"
Fields: “Yeah, I don’t understand. That looks horrible. You’re going after a Breitbart reporter, the people who are nicest to you?"
Terris: “I know, I’m going to put it in my story."
That is contemporaneous audio that strongly supports the claim that Lewandowski not only grabbed her but handled her very roughly. And, as you can see, she's got a witness who perceived the incident in a way that cause him to start the conversation by asking her if she was OK.

Here's the surveillance video:

You can't see the whole thing because there are gaps in the motion but it clearly shows that he grabbed her and when you combine that with the contemporaneous audio and a witness who reacted by saying, "he just threw you" and "“He really just almost threw you on the ground" there's plenty of basis for arresting him for battery if the Florida law on battery is ANYTHING like the Louisiana law is.

That contemporaneous audio kind of blows the whole "she made it up" stuff out of the water and also supports her claim that she almost went to the ground. Etc. etc.

The obsessor has spoken!

By the way, the choppy, shitty video you posted was useless, up until the point where it reverts to my video. At the 46 second mark of your video, you can see where her momentum is stopped and she doesn't even blink. Clearly, nothing harmful has happened to her. It's obvious that she made a story out of nothing.

Nope. If I'm a campaign manager and a reporter grabs at my candidate and I make her get off of him, then I don't think I'm involved in battery. Maybe if I clotheslined her and put her on the floor.

But again, 46 second mark of your video, she doesn't even blink or make a face. Her whole story was created after the fact.

Wow, I thought you were a man.

The surveillance has gaps. What it shows is that he did grab her. But you can't see the entire event because there isn't continuous motion.

Again, though, there is audio provided by Washington Post reporter Ben Terris. It's got Terris saying, immediately after witnessing the event, that Lewandowski almost threw Fields to the ground. It also has Terris apparently thinking that it was rough enough to prompt him to ask Fields if she was OK.

How are you going to get around that contemporaneous audio along with her having Terris as a witness who will testify that the guy almost threw her to the ground just as she claimed? You read the transcript of that audio and I think you have to conclude the chances are pretty good that Terris will testify that Lewandowski handled fields very roughly.

Here reaction to this horrific molestation that you insinuate is a disappointed look that she couldn't ask her question.

I looked up the Florida statute.
The crime of Simple Battery or Misdemeanor Battery is defined under Section 784.03, Florida Statutes. In Florida, the term battery means:

Any actual and intentional touching or striking of another person against that person’s will (non-consensual), or
The intentional causing of bodily harm to another person.
Notice it says touching "or" striking. That means touching does it. As I said, it doesn't take much. Also, you don't have to cause bodily harm. In this case, though, there's an allegation that he caused bodily harm because she had bruises.

Now I'm sure Trump apologists will go to the ends of the earth to say things like she bruised herself or got the bruises some other way. But I guess that'll be discussed during the legal process.

So you're saying a campaign manager is not allowed to separate a hounding reporter from his candidate?

This case will get dismissed with ease. Battery not included.

I went through it clicking stop and start and I'm not seeing anything that cancels the contemporaneous audio. I don't see how you're going to get around having audio recorded right after the event of a Washington Post reporter asking her if she was OK and saying that Lewandowski almost threw her to the ground. You think a judge is going to buy the kind of argument you're making when a Washington Post reporter testifies that the guy almost threw her to the ground and he's got a recording of himself saying the same thing contemporaneous to the event? Also contemporaneous audio of Fields talking about how hard he grabbed her, etc.
