Re: Election 2016: Trump vs Clinton
There is no opportunity in this case to make America great again. All we can do is try to make a choice that will result in a slower rate of decline. And, unfortunately, that choice has to be Hillary.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

This thread needs an official CS General Election Poll...the most accurate national predictor of who will win the election.

There was a time when I would agree with you. But not if the alternative is Donald Trump. And, with all due respect, I think you really need to think about it. You need to think about just exactly what you'll be voting for if you vote for Donald Trump.Ibanez wrote:You lose all credibility of you vote for her.JohnStOnge wrote:There is no opportunity in this case to make America great again. Re: Election 2016: Trump vs Clinton
Questions:
1) Will the usual sponsors shy away from paying for the convention? If they do, where will the money come from? Will Trump need to step up and help pay for his own coronation as the candidate?
2) Will the Republican Party divert campaign funds and other resources to congressional, gubernatorial and other local races?

He just gave a speech that he's aiming for the Superdelegates and he doesn't plan on leaving the race and that he feels he can win California.
Should he loses a close vote for the nomination, does he run Independent?

The earliest deadlines for filing to be on the ballot in November is coming up. 2 states have early deadlines, the rest are in June.DSUrocks07 wrote:3) What role will Sanders play?UNI88 wrote:Questions:

Hillary by at least 10 points...she will win every state Obama won in 2008 and then one or two more. It's going to be the biggest shellacking of a presidential election since Reagan and Mondale. Thanks, Trump voters.

Odd question.Vidav wrote:What greatness does Trump want to return to?
Are you saying we (America) haven't been, or aren't, great?
What other country has been greater overall than the United States of America?

Why do people want to come to this country more than any other?
Do you think our economy has been better?

I love how pundits always want to use extreme examples like their desired candidate wouldn't fall victim to the same tactics.Vidav wrote:I'm curious when this greatness was. Please tell me what decade Trump wants to return to. When women couldn't vote? When blacks couldn't?Cluck U wrote:

Here's an idea, how about 1996-2000 when the economy was rolling along, there was actual bipartisanship for the good of the country and the National debt was going DOWN and we had a annual budget surplus?

How about we go back to those days?
But no, please continue the bullshit rhetoric that Trump wants to take America back to slavery times and before women's sufferage

Gotta love partisan hacks, politics wouldn't be as fun without their idiocy for comedic purposes.

Re: Election 2016: Trump vs Clinton
So she wins back Indiana and North Carolina and she holds on to Ohio and Florida and then somehow wins some other red states? Come on, that's just silly. CNN last night was going on and on about how Trump is a serious threat to win a bunch of rust belt states (Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Iowa) and how he's a legit threat to turn some blue states red, which really no other GOP candidate could've done. His being a social moderate in many ways is going to leave behind a lot of baggage that has got in the way of previous GOP candidates. Moving past the social arch-conservatism the party has trended to in previous years is going to make a lot more places competitive. Besides, when was the last time an election was held with two people who have such high negatives? Anything's possible in this one as a result.Pwns wrote:Hillary by at least 10 points...she will win every state Obama won in 2008 and then one or two more. Re: RE: Re: Election 2016: Trump vs Clinton
I think the Dems would absolutely seal the deal now if they were able to convince Sanders to be the VP for Hillary. That would patch up the party nicely and they would roll in November. However, I get the sense that the rift in the Democratic party could even be bigger than that in the Republican party and without Sanders on board the Dems are listing. Going to be an interesting election year.DSUrocks07 wrote:3) What role will Sanders play?UNI88 wrote:Questions:

I agree with this. It's not over by a long shot. I know a couple of county delegates here and they are not happy with Hillary. You see that happening across the country. I think there's a strong undercurrent of resentment among Bernie supporters and it's not a certainty that they will fall lock step into line.GannonFan wrote:I think the Dems would absolutely seal the deal now if they were able to convince Sanders to be the VP for Hillary. I think we're already starting to see Hillary fatigue and just wait until it's only her and that preachy know it all smugness on the stage day in and day out. And it ain't as if her favorability numbers are off the charts good (38.4) either.

Please tell me what love and moving forward Hillary is involved in. More, "Rules are for you, but not for me" governance? More megamillionaires making even bigger deals while throwing scraps to their peeps du jour? More wanton attacks on foreign governments and their civilians, and removal, by force, and death, of their leaders? More backdoor deals with wealthy Saudis (you know, those progressive Saudi leaders that fill Hillary's coffers while getting more weapons to kill anyone they don't like)?
Are you shltting me?
Trump is pointing out, correctly, that America has lost its jobs to foreign workers. Are you denying that, or are your blinders still on? What, has Clinton done to help the average person? Her husband signed NAFTA...and it has been a disaster. Her husband decided to put a huge number of Black fathers, superpredators, in jail, helping to continue to destroy the Black community. Her cozy Wall Street friends helped willfully destroy the American housing market (and the American dream). Now, those same uber wealthy Hillary friends are economically enslaving young people by putting them into rentals...oh, but not anyone that committed any financial errors (seriously...you can't make this stuff up).
Wow...you and Tripp should get a room. Blinded by hate...fearful...incoherent. I feel sorry for you if you are believing that shallow, divisive crap that Hillary is putting out. She and her ilk have been in power and done what?
