Hate Crime at U of Iowa is made up

A couple weeks ago there was a small riot that broke out after a U of Iowa student went to the campus police and said he was attacked by three white males in an ally and was beaten while racial slurs were yelled....
Well, the FBI found there was no such crime. He was in fights at a bar and this was his way of getting out of punishment for it. There's video of those fights.
It will be real interesting how the Black Student Union at U of I handles this, especially with how they reacted 3 weeks ago when the story broke.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The FBI has determined an assault near the University of Iowa campus late last month was not a hate crime.
Nineteen-year-old Marcus Owens needed hospital treatment after he said originally three white men attacked him, yelling racial slurs. The incident happened on April 30th in the 200 block of Iowa Avenue.
Owens and his family issued a public apology late Monday night.
"Marcus Owens and the entire Owens family would like to issue their deepest apologies to Marcus’s friends, the Iowa City community, the University of Iowa, and the Iowa City Police Department for the misunderstandings and anxiety stemming from Marcus’s involvement in a violent incident," the statement said.
"Upon learning more details of the case, and while racial slurs served to fuel the violence, Marcus now knows that his account of events was inconsistent with police findings, in part due to alcohol being involved, his embarrassment at his behavior, as well as the injuries he sustained."
During an investigation, police found the original altercation stemmed from a disagreement between two students who are members of fraternities. Police said witnesses told them one individual used a racial slur during a follow-up altercation.
"All evidence gathered supports that this was an isolated incident that stemmed from an ongoing disagreement," police said in the news release.
Police said witnesses told them Owens made comments being concerned about his injuries sustained during the altercations and how he was going to inform his family.
Iowa City police has referred the case to the Johnson County Attorney's Office but anticipate no charges in the case.
Police are expected to hold a news conference at city hall Tuesday.
Here was the Black Student Union statement from May 5th. Pretty scathing statement that paints the U of I as one of the more racist places to exist in the world. Makes it sound like weekly hate crimes are committed. Calls this event a "symptom of a marge larger plaguing" the campus. They literally said there is a plague of hate crimes at U of I...
Will be interesting if they even issue a statement about this going forward.

In Iowa, even hate crimes are boring.

Bolded part is one of the problems. He should be charged with filing a false report. But it's Iowa City/Johnson County so it's not a surprise.

Yup.
It's what I find so funny about this. Johnson County is the most politically correct, far left, hippy dippy county in the state of Iowa and it's not even freaking close. It would fit in perfectly right outside of San Francisco.
Nothing will come of this, even though he should be charged, with a minimum, of filing false police reports.

And after showing the video they disucssed his BAC at the time of his treatment - nearly 4 hours after the fight. At 19 years old, 4 hours after the fight, he was at .112. Medical experts believe he was pushing .20 at the time of the fight...
And they decided not to press any charges of any kind against him because "there were too many people involved to press charges against just one person".
Yeah, don't charge the 19 year old with a .18 BAC who instigated three different fights. I mean, really? Wow.

You've obviously never been to Waterloo.
My small town has a few plus a few mixed race. I estimate the total at 6.93.

The BSU will hunker down and pray for all of this to blow over...which it will because the media only cares about blacks when they are the victim. Otherwise, sweep it under the rug...
But if anyone calls them out on it, they'll just call them racist.

Waterloo, CR, Quad Cities, Sioux City, Des Moines (not the west side), Mason City and Council Bluffs have a good number.
It's not Baltimore or Chicago by any stretch...although many of them are funneling into Iowa through Chicago. The basic theme is they are gang members in Chicago that "get run out of" the city. They then head over to Cedar Rapids/Quad Cities where they have created a ton of issues. Eventually a number get chased from the QC/CR areas and they head to Waterloo and cause issues. From there they head towards Sioux City/Council Bluffs to the west or to Mason City to the north.

I don't know if this guy is the official spokesman for the BSU, or even involved, but here's a statement posted on twitter

Yes this.
When you are trying to knock out an opponent's teeth in an intoxicated rage you should still maintain a certain level of decorum and refrain from using hurtful language.
Otherwise the Republic could crumble under the weight of your racism

They say the Midwest is a bit slower than the rest of the country.
But hey, we've got DSU and that chick who tweeted that everyone's a racist - interesting perspective, and that Larry writer that our own Team Brown supporter likes. Oh, and the half dozen Black folks, including one bad poker player (now, c'mon, who doesn't like to be around that kind of guy on the second Friday of every month?) that I hang around (but their extended posse hasn't been completely vetted yet). Wait...there was a guy on TV supporting Trump...he seemed like a good peep, so add him to the number. If you also add in our cool neighbor from New York (we'll overlook the fact that he has a White wife - he took one of the ugly ones), we're getting a pretty good band together. Speaking of which, I'd add in Prince, but he's dead.
Anyway, clenz, apparently there is a good number.

Hey, I forgot to add a couple of AZ's fantasy women to the number (as long as Will Smith's wife isn't one of them...she is a flake).
