Gary Johnson

I was listening to a talk radio show in Des Moines on the drive home last night. They were talking about Trump VP candidates and a caller asked why Gary Johnson is getting no press.
The show host noted that he has invited Johnson on to his show 5 times and was ignored 4 times and the 5th time was told "we will get him on your show after the Libertarian Party convention". He has not had any contact since the LP convention.
This host has the drive time radio show in Des Moines. The host leans right but not like Rush Limbaugh. I would classify him as a Libertarian Republican. Our state officials including Senators Grassley and Ernst, US congressman, and our governor are frequent guests. Leading up to the caucus most every Republican candidate was on his show - Bush might be about the only one that wasn't (and he might've been). The Libertarian candidate for governor two years ago was and still is a guest on the show.
The host contends that part of the reason Johnson doesn't get any press is because Johnson is either scared to answer questions or his team is incompetent.
What do you think?

The Libertarian Party has never been very politically adept. Remember - these are people who would rather just be left alone- it is the Party of Type B.
I'd say that it is probably political naivete on the part of Johnson's campaign apparatus because I have never seen him shy away from answering questions. He called Trump a pussy on camera not once, but three times in succession. That isn't a guy who is afraid to talk.

It's your Senator's home state and the caucus drove the candidates, but also probably a bit organizational issues.

Or he just got high and forgot to call into the show.

It's likely because Iowa isn't going to generate enough votes for him. Iowa isn't a place where he is going to win. It sucks, but it's true.
Iowa is very, very, purple. Big metro areas are deep blue and the rural areas are deep red. There isn't much in between, and those of us that are don't have the numbers to make a difference.
It's why King has been in office as long as has. It's why the former mayor of Cedar Falls was a pompous douchebag cunt criminal that only Chicago politicians could top but kept getting reelected 16 fucking times. Someone finally had the money and balls to challenge him and beat him last November.
Yep, this guy ran the city for 30 years

The Libertarian party has basically become a party of misfits and Johnson himself is kind of goofy. Not someone I would enthusiastically vote for but suitable for a protest vote. But hey, at least he's an adult unlike Trump and not a crook unlike Hillary. And not batpoop off-the-charts liberal like the Green party.

Johnson isn't goofy. We're just accustomed to politicians who do everything they can to not appear goofy. Felating corn dogs at the Iowa Fair, showing off your fat upper dick while throwing a ceremonial pitch, or carrying around hot sauce while over inflecting a southern accent are goofy.

Not sure if the radio show gets a large audience but honestly he isn't going to win any states. So he should be on every media outlet he can get on. Of course maybe the reason he isn't is because he isn't going to win any states.

He isn't going to win any state so why not try and get free press and get as many votes as possible. Try to build the LP as a true alternative to the Repulicrats?

You know, we'll never know but I just wonder what would've happened if Ron Paul was running as the Libertarian candidate this year. I don't think he'd have a snowball's chance of winning but he had way more cache than Johnson does. He'd be getting a serious support level, I think.

GJ shares many of the same beliefs as Paul but actually has chief executive experience. And he's less of a crank.

Paul, for whatever reason, commanded more attention. He inspired more fervor, I think.

Stupid fat git.

I prefer common sense and liberty with a lack of dignity over a dignified lack of common sense and liberty.

And, what's the context of the video?

Sure, but this assclown is just distracting people from the message of "common sense and liberty" that the LP POTUS/VPOTUS candidates are trying to convey.

I'm not small minded enough to be distracted by it. Anyone who is wouldn't vote Libertarian anyway. They aren't a shiny enough object.
