http://wsvn.com/news/local/video-shows- ... armed-man/Cops in North Miami were caught on cellphone video shooting Charles Kinsey, a behavioral specialist, while he lay on the ground with his hands in the air, as reported by WSVN.
Kinsey says he was trying to intervene on behalf of an autistic patient who had run off from the group home. According to police, someone called 911 to report a suicidal man walking around with a gun. The group home patient had a toy truck in his hands.
"When I went to the ground, I went to the ground with my hands up," Kinsey told WSVN, "and I am laying there just like this. Telling them again there is no need for firearms. He is autistic. He has a toy truck in his hand."
"I was really more worried about him than myself. I was thinking as long as I have my hands up," Kinsey continued. "They're not going to shoot me. This is what I'm thinking, they're not going to shoot me. Wow, was I wrong."
Cops did, however, shoot Kinsey. "I thought it was a mosquito bite," Kinsey explained to WSVN, "and when it hit me I had my hands in the air, and I'm thinking I just got shot! And I'm saying, 'Sir, why did you shoot me?' and his words to me were, 'I don't know.'"

The militarization of police forces and the shoot first/ask questions later mentality is really doing neither them nor us any service.
We have to somehow get back closer to the Mayberry style of policing if at all possible, but I realize that's not entirely realistic in the world we've created in the past 50 years.

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/07/oklahom ... -the-head/Vickie Malone said that she had sent her son Eli and his friends outside so she could prepare ice cream and birthday cake for Eli’s birthday party when she heard a bang. Eli called out to her, “There’s something wrong with Opie.”
The adults at the party heard two more shots and ran outside. They found the dog lying on his side inside the fence, “kicking and gasping for air,” said Vickie Malone.
The officer who shot the dog told the family that the dog had lunged at him through the fence. Wynnewood Police Chief Ken Moore stood behind the officer’s actions, saying the dog was vicious and had come around the corner of the house outside the fence and charged at the officer.
However, Fox 25 said that the video from the scene of the incident they reviewed contradicts the officer’s story. Opie’s body is lying inside the fence with a gunshot wound to the head.

It is becoming an un-doable job. I've been encouraging my former colleagues to get out. It just isn't worth it to try to do the job right.

Don't overlook the fact that this guy's was intervening into the cops ability to do his job. Once again not listening to the officer results in another hood rat getting some street cred

Or, if you choose, how did he intervene?

It's not up to me to teach you guys, get the info on your own and make your own decision.
Also none of you get to FORCE anything on me and a try to insinuate that I think the cop is in the right. He's not and should be fired. The guy with the bullets in him could have avoided this 100% but he chose to get involved

But maybe his charge is alive because of it. I'd hate for people in that position to say the hell with it, he's just an autistic kid. Let him get killed.ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote:It's not up to me to teach you guys, get the info on your own and make your own decision.

I'm not 100%... but, I'd assume that if a caretaker at a group home allows his wards to play with toy trucks in the street unsupervised... he's going to get fired at the very least... and, probably arrested and charged with some kind of neglect.
