VictorG wrote:'Overly obese' body sparks Ohio funeral home fire

A crematorium in Ohio caught fire while burning the remains of an "overly obese" body, according to the owner.
Don Catchen said the corpse caused flames to engulf one of his units in the city of Cincinnati.
The fat in the body burned at a higher temperature, prompting the blaze, said the city fire chief.
The blog Confessions of a Funeral Director describes a blaze resulting from the cremation of a morbidly obese person as a "grease fire".
No other parts of the building were damaged, Mr Catchen said.
The fire was contained to the garage where the crematory unit is located, he told BBC News.
The fire began at 21:40 (01:40 GMT) on Wednesday and took about two hours to put out, Mr Catchen told local news outlet WCPO.
"My operator was in the process of cremating remains and [the body] was overly obese and apparently it got a little hotter than the unit is supposed to get," Mr Catchen added.

"One of the cremation containers that we had close got caught on fire and that's what burnt."
No other bodies were damaged in the fire, he said.
"We believe there were some combustible storage boxes that were too close to the ovens," said Cincinnati Fire Chief Michael Washington.
Mr Catchen added the fireproof unit is made of concrete block with a steel roof, but also has a rubberised roof.
A similar blaze at a Virginia facility in October 2014 occurred during the cremation of a 500lb (226kg) body.

Technically speaking, I'm definitely a millennial. I was born in 1983, which means I'm part of the generation, whether one uses the Census Bureau's definition (born 1982-2000) or Pew's (about 1981-1997). But the more I hear about millennials, the less I recognize myself. And I'm not alone on this front: In 2015, for example, Juliet Lapidos -- born the same year I was -- may have put it best in a column for the New York Times headlined "Wait, What, I'm a Millennial?" "I don't identify with the kids that Time magazine described as technology-addled narcissists, the Justin Bieber fans who 'boomerang' back home instead of growing up," she writes. And I've had plenty of conversations with other people my age who feel the same way. Many, many people who are in their late 20s and early 30s simply don't feel like they are a part of the endlessly dissected millennial generation.

GOP Congresswoman From Arizona Threatened For Support of Trump
An employee of Tucson, Arizona’s school district was arrested after the FBI traced three voicemails threatening Rep. Martha McSally to his phone number.

According to a Tuesday article from The Washington Post, Steve Martan left “expletive-filled” death threats on the Republican politician’s office line on May 2 and 10. During the second voicemail, Martan allegedly warned he would “pull the trigger” when she returned to Arizona and “shoot her between the eyes.”

Yeahhhhh.... about that..... :suspicious:
A Tampa man arrested in Key Largo following a traffic stop is a confessed neo-Nazi who manufactured explosives in his apartment, where police also found radiation materials, according to a federal arrest affidavit.

The case is related to a double homicide in Tampa, also involving white supremacists, federal agents say.

FBI and Tampa Police Department officers found a cooler containing a white cake-like substance in Brandon Russell’s garage, underneath his apartment, that tested positive for hexamethane triperoxide diamine, which is a precursor to several different types of explosives. He was arrested on possession of unregistered destructive devices and unlawful storage of explosive charges.

Also found in the garage were empty 5.56-caliber bullet casings with fuses that agents say could be used as detonators of the HMTD.

Russell was pulled over by Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies Sunday afternoon driving south on U.S. 1 at mile marker 99. Authorities didn’t say why he was in the Keys or why he was pulled over.
Inside Russell’s bedroom, they found a framed photograph of Timothy McVeigh, who was convicted and put to death for bombing the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. They also found Nazi/white supremacist propaganda, according to the FBI complaint. While in his bedroom, devices used by police bomb technicians alerted to the presence of radiation sources — thorium and americium.

Before asking for an attorney, Russel told FBI agents he was a “national socialist,” according to the complaint, and a member of a group called the “Atom Waffen,” or “atomic weapon” in German.

A group of neo-Nazi nerds have been recruiting new members at top tier American universities, a world exclusive five-month investigation by RadarOnline.com has revealed.

The hate-mongering eggheads, known as the Atomwaffen Division, are considered a potential threat because they’re aligned with Islamic terrorists and are encouraging attacks on the United States.

The racist geeks have glorified the perpetrators of the deadly nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla., that claimed 49 lives in June 2016, and the Oklahoma City truck bombing that killed 168 people in 1995.

“Atomwaffen Division has used the slogan ‘Osama was Right,’ and its leader has praised Orlando ISIS terrorist, Omar Mateen, as a ‘hero,'” a source familiar with the group told Radar.

The group’s leader is reportedly a young nuclear physics student that’s trying to encourage members to conduct an attack similar to Timothy McVeigh‘s strike in Oklahoma City.

“Timothy McVeigh is true hero and freedom fighter,” a member posted on the group’s social media, which sometimes uses McVeigh’s image on its propaganda fliers.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) recently posted an “extremism and terrorism” advisory warning about groups like the Atomwaffen Division, which uses fliers to recruit brainiacs at some of the nation’s most prestigious colleges.

“The fliers try to appeal to white college students by focusing on the alleged dangers facing white Americans,” the advisory stated.

“Since the beginning of 2016, the alt-right adherents have been responsible for dozens of episodes of racist flier placement at universities and colleges across the country.”

Other white supremacist groups aggressively recruiting college dorks are Identity Evropa, American Vanguard and The Right Stuff, according to the ADL.

The AMCHA Initiative, a non-profit organization that investigates anti-Semitism against Jewish college students, has identified more than Atomwaffen, which translates as “to go nuclear” in German, is also linked to the secretive and violent National Action group, a neo-Nazi white supremacist organization in Great Britain.

The British government recently branded National Action as a terrorist organization under the Terrorism Act 2000, making it illegal to be a member of the group or to support it.

Unlike National Action, Atomwaffen’s social media glorifies Islamic terrorists — and lets its followers know Hitler would have “supported the Palestinians.”

In another message on Twitter, the group stated, “Hezbollah and Hamas are doing God’s work by attacking Israel.”

Tim Kaine's son arrested

Clad in black and wearing a mask, the youngest son of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine wrested himself from the cop and then “squared off” with him.

Woody Kaine, 24, was among five masked, black-garbed people suspected of lobbing a smoke bomb minutes earlier inside the Minnesota Capitol rotunda Saturday afternoon.

Officers had chased him down, but Kaine wasn’t about to submit, according to a more detailed account provided Wednesday by St. Paul police.

In the end, it took three officers, a “knee strike” and a chemical spray to subdue Kaine after he was identified as one of the counterprotesters who allegedly used fireworks or a smoke bomb to disrupt a rally in support of President Donald Trump at the Minnesota State Capitol, according to police spokesman Steve Linders.
