I'm not sure it's quite that simple. Regulated immigration is good for the economy and good for the country. Open borders puts a strain on social services and more.

Immigration, like most issues, only gets superficial coverage by either party or even the media. Abortion is the same way. Once you delve into the details there are a lot more layers and things to be worked out. Are open borders bad? Absolutely. Is immigration necessary? Absolutely. Devil's in the details and that's where we lose most people who just like headlines and click-bait.

I was reading the problem was people in the background were yelling about doing cocaine and now they want her drug tested. As long as she's sober at work, it shouldn't be anyone's business.

Eh, she's an elected official working for the public. We hear all the time that these jobs don't have hours on them, you're always working. I think I'd have a problem with my elected official doing coke on the "off hours".

With that said, I have zero problem with her dancing or partying. Nothing wrong about that at all, and refreshing to see someone be normal. But like I said, stay off the coke.

Firstly, Just like in the US Constitution, there is no right to abortion, nor is it mentioned, in the Florida constitution..
Just like in the US Constitution, in the FL constitution, there’s a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness..
Warren can litigate, and he will lose. Desantis is right..

Secondly, there’s also that little pesky detail of Warren would not enforce any prohibition of sex change operations for minors. Desantis is justified for firing him on that alone.

Thirdly, if you’re a state prosecutor, your job is to enforce state laws, period. It not your job to decide which you are going to enforce and which you aren’t. I’m sure every lawyer in law school is taught that as a DA/prosecutor, you have to defend laws you disagree with. If you have a problem with that, then you should resign. The guy is acting in direct defiance of his boss, the Florida Attorney General.

As a state employee who works for a statewide elected public official, I can tell you that doing something like that will get you fired quicker than just about anything.

Refusing to enforce COVID restrictions isn't even in the same stratosphere. Sheriffs are elected officials and can't (usually, depends on the state) be "fired" by a governor. Sheriffs have discretion as to who to arrest, just like DA's that have discretion as to who they will prosecute. State attorneys are employees, not elected officials and have to do what their bosses tell them to do.
