Here we go again part ??

Post by andy7171 »

You know if shit like this happens over an armed black guy gets shot by a black police officer working under a black police commissioner in a town with a black mayor. And it's white peoples fault. I'm going to vote and then take my family to my parents cottage in rural PA. If Trump wins, it's fixed and there will be riots and mayhem nation wide.

The white Tulsa, Okla., police officer captured on video fatally shooting an unarmed black man on a city street will face first-degree manslaughter charges, Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler announced at a news conference.

The prosecutor filed the charges against officer Betty Shelby on Thursday, a full six days after multiple cameras showed her shooting 40-year-old Terence Crutcher as he stood beside his stalled sport-utility vehicle. Moments earlier, cameras had captured Crutcher walking away from Shelby with his hands in the air.

“The tragic circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Crutcher are on the hearts and minds of many people in this community,” he said, according to NBC affiliate KJRH. “It’s important to note that despite the heightened tensions felt by all, which seemingly beg for an emotional response and reaction, our community has consistently demonstrated the willingness to respect the judicial process.”

“I do not know why things happen in this world the way they do,” Kunzweiler added. “We need to pray for wisdom and guidance.”

[‘He was my compassionate son,’ Terence Crutcher’s mother says after fatal shooting in Tulsa]

If convicted, Shelby could face a minimum of four years in prison.

I'm sure this is calculated but still, given everything that's going on...wtf? :suspicious:

NC...you're making Oklahoma look smart... :ohno:
Chief Putney, who has resisted demands from the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina and others to release all video of the shooting recorded by other officers and by cameras mounted on patrol cars, said that his department only releases footage “when we think it is in the public’s interest.” In this case, he told reporters at a news conference, “you shouldn’t expect it to be released.”

Asked by one incredulous reporter how withholding the visual evidence could be squared with the city’s promise of full transparency, Putney said, “I never said ‘full transparency.’ I said ‘transparency,’ and transparency’s in the eye of the beholder.”

He's damned if you and damned if you don't. When I was field testing body cameras for Homeland Security part of the analysis and report was the retention and release of videos. The ACLU told us that any video not being saved for an investigation should be retained longer than 14 days AND shouldn't be released to the public because it could "poison the well" with juries and potentially ruin an investigation.

But that's what they say in private. In public, it's s different story.

Btw, Tulsa PD is saying how they're testing products, etc...what a waste of money. We've done it for you. They go to DHS, get a grant and get a report. Morons.

Yup. A buddy when to check on a test going on in a data center and was turned away because his address wasn't within the actual city.

I'm not sure how that's working though with the planned protests going on.

ID checks? Wait...whut?

No one needs IDs anymore...not to vote, not to prove citizenship, not for anything. So how are people expected to produce IDs to prove they live anywhere?
