This time Charlotte:
"....The incident started when Charlotte police looking to serve a warrant Tuesday shot and killed a man in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Though the man was armed, he's not the one police were looking for, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a statement.

It was not clear why authorities were serving the warrant. While they were looking for that individual, officers saw a man get out of a car with a gun, then get back into the vehicle, the statement said.

"The subject got back out of the vehicle armed with a firearm and posed an imminent deadly threat to the officers who subsequently fired their weapon striking the subject," police said......

....Scott died at Carolinas Medical Center. A gun he was holding was found at the scene, police said.

CNN affiliate WSOC reported that protesters blocked off a road as a line of police in riot gear stretched across the street.

At least 12 officers suffered injuries during the protests, the police department tweeted. It did not provide details on the nature and severity of the injuries, but said one of its officers was hit in the face with a rock....."

More non-compliance to police directions.
More misleading information from the media.
More overuse of force.

The radio shows this morning were especially angry and ridiculous. A few observations from the radio shows

1) Radio host: Thugs aren't getting killed. College students, fathers and men with priors are.
2) Radio host: Police need better training
3) Radio host in response to a white woman saying the looting is wrong: You can't say it's wrong b/c that how people grieve.
4) Radio caller: The constitution doesn't work for him. After Tulsa, he's now "bad" or "on drugs" by virtue of being 6'4" and 200+ lbs and regardless of the fact that he's never engaged in criminal activity, never been arrested and in the US military.
5) Radio caller: Being black is a curse

Very interesting.

Police said they recovered the firearm Scott was holding. But a woman who said she is Scott’s daughter claimed on a live-streamed video on Facebook that Scott was unarmed when he was shot. The video went viral, with more than 521,000 views by 9:30 p.m.

In the video, the woman said her father was sitting in his car reading a book and waiting for the school bus to drop off his son. She claimed that her father was Tasered and then shot four times, and that he was disabled.

1) How can you say what happened if you weren't there
2) Reading a book, at 9:30 pm while waiting for a school bus to drop someone off? :suspicious: At 9:30?

Other than the looting thing (JFC... :ohno: ) there's some valid arguments here.

Listening to that one Gomer in Tulsa say 'that looks like a bad dude too...probably on somethin' doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence in the intelligence of the cops. I thought Louis Gohmert might have been at the scene.

For sure. My thoughts on the above
1) True. However people like Michael Brown weren't innocent. Walter Scott, while not deserving death, shouldn't have run and made the situation worst.
2) For the small percentage of bad cops, yes.
3) That's just stupid
4) Agree 100%
5) Try being White in 2016.

I have only heard a little bit about the Tulsa incident. But it sounds like bad police work, no doubt about it.

A few things I wonder about regarding all these police shootings:

* Has it always been like this, and we didn't hear about it?
* Is the media sensationalizing every one that happens, especially the police on black shootings?
* Are police shootings actually increasing? I would think in the day of iphones, security cameras, traffic cameras, etc. police would be even more careful about making the best decisions.
* Is there truly a police training issue?
* Are blacks simply being more resistant to police commands due to the BLM movement?
* Why is it that in the age of police dashcams and body cams they seem like they're often malfunctioning, turned off, or nothing is framed well enough to prove anything one way or another. If people are behaving badly, it seems like police video should be a great weapon to exonerate a lot of police shooters and calm the angry masses with proof.

I don't have the answers, but I suspect that it's a combination of all of these.

Tasers.

Why the living fuck do we give cops fucking tasers/mace if they don't want to fucking use them.

Jesus fucking christ. At this point, it's damn near impossible to be able to look at this shit and go "Yeah, the cop *might* have been justified".

You could have Martin Scorcese there filming the actual event and it wouldn't calm the angry masses. Once they been "dissed" they gonna loot. It's how they "grieve". They may not have known the guy at all, but they gotta grieve.

Oh, and if you're an armed black man you have a better chance of winning Powerball than being shot by a cop. So, yeah, there's just a tad bit of sensationalizing this shit....just like we now get minute-by-minute reports of every single athlete who decides not to stand for the National Anthem.

If the subject has a gun, you need a gun. If the person is unarmed, then a taser.

Don't bring a knife, I mean taser, to a gun fight..

Can you post the actual stats of black men being shot versus winning the Powerball?
