Imagine that... Politico... where all the ex-gop staffers went to write when their members were bounced from the majority...

I love that "unless obama does something about the rising populist anger..." what a bunch of shit. populist anger always rises when the economy gets bad... what exactly are any of these pundits offering as solutions? take up the pitchforks with the villagers?

I also do love that the pundit class now "matters" to conservatives after eight years of being dismissive towards them. It was the one place I always agreed with them... I don't care what armchair advisers said about Bush... I don't care what they say about Obama either.

This is an entire class of people who a) love the sound of their own voice and the inflation of their own importance. b) are writing as columnists because nobody takes them seriously enough to put them in charge of anything. c) have all been waiting since November to be the first to write the seminal "honeymoon's over" column... so they can take credit for saying it first... which is tantamount to posting "FIRST" in blog comments. d) seem to think that there was no populist anger in the country before Jan. 20, when in reality it's been at a rolling boil since Sept. 2005. with only brief moments of cool-down.

I do think it's delightful to see the desperation of some to call Obama a "failure" 60 days in to his term. It's equally retarded to call him a "success" this early.

WHile I'm not a fan of the administration, I fully agree with you on this point...

I doubt he'll succeed with the direction he's going...but it's way too early to declare him a "failure"...

I think you're missing the "forest for the trees" here, TT. Politico is simply reporting on the rare fact that a MSM newspaper had the gaul to actually be critical of Obama. 'Tis a rare event indeed. Nice spin, though. No wonder you're so good at your job.
