Fantastic and informative piece here on the rift in the Republican Party. Many of the big players were interviewed for it. Poor Eric Erickson and George Will.

And while I knew Coulter was a surrogate, and she might be taking more credit than she deserves it finally dawned on me that Trump is almost exactly like her. Master troll who understands the value of shock... :notworthy:

Some of the radio hosts (in particular Limbaugh) know if they're anti-Trump they'll lose their listener base.

I read about half. I guess I should have skipped to the bottom to see what the conclusion said. I don't think it is surprising that someone like Trump would rip the republican party apart. The party has been a rather odd coalition in my opinion anyway. The thing I find fascinating is that he is getting the evangelical support. While I am not that now, I was certainly raised that way and know lots of people in that community. Strangely enough most I know can't stand him. But, I am sure the majority are voting for him.

The article (at least the part I read) is more about the divide in the republican media ,which let's face it, is a lot like Trump. Loud mouth blow hards who beat a subject into the ground by screaming at it until they proclaim victory. Media "stars" in it for the money more than the cause.

I actually read the whole thing. For a NYT piece, it was remarkably even-handed. I didn't get the sense that the author was gloating about the rift among conservative journalists, although his sympathies were more with the "establishment" types (like Will and even Erickson), and it was obvious that he regards Coulter and Ingraham as self-promoting witches of the highest order.
