GitHub is a treasure trove of code. A smart hacker could have a field day with that site. Actually, no hacking is required.

You guys kind of ragged on me in another thread but I really do think we should take the posture of killing these people if and when we identify them. We really should create an atmosphere in which the paradigm is "if you do this sort of thing the United States will hunt you down and kill you." It's a serious thing. Hackers are the worst. It should be considered a capital crime within the United States and an act of war calling for elimination when it comes from outside the United States. These people should not be tolerated.

Why does it seem like garage hackers (in any country) who aren't even making big bucks in the Tech sector are always two or three steps ahead of people who so cyber security for the federal government? What's the deal there?

Drug testing for one thing
The FBI is mulling revamping its hiring rules regarding drug use, specifically marijuana, as it's getting tough to hire on cybersecurity gurus given the pot-smoking habit many seem to have these days.
FBI Director James B. Comey said the federal enforcement agency may have to change up its regulations regarding employee drug rules to hire on needed IT talent in its quest to fight cybersecurity threats. The FBI has the approval of Congress to add 2,000 staffers and most will be focused on cybersecurity.
But finding that many gurus who don't have a pot habit may be tough, said Comey, during a conference Monday in New York.
"I have to hire a great work force to compete with those cyber criminals and some of those kids want to smoke weed on the way to the interview," Comey said.
Right now the FBI can't hire anyone who may be users of marijuana but Comey said publicly that those who do have a habit and are cybersecurity experts should apply for a job if interested.

An American vigilante hacker -- who calls himself "The Jester" -- has defaced the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in retaliation for attacks on American targets. n Friday night, the Jester gained access to the Russian government ministry's website. And he left a message: Stop attacking Americans.
"Comrades! We interrupt regular scheduled Russian Foreign Affairs Website programming to bring you the following important message," he wrote. "Knock it off. You may be able to push around nations around you, but this is America. Nobody is impressed."
MID.ru is the official website of the Russian agency that is in charge of maintaining that country's international diplomacy -- equivalent to the U.S. Department of State.
His hacking of the website included this gag: Visitors are subjected to the ear-piercing sound of an American civil alert message -- that shrieking dial tone that accompanies emergency weather broadcasts.
