Considering how much hyperventilating conks were doing over the prospect of Hillary shaping the future of the court, I don't think so. :coffee:

Ohhh, so the hyperventilating donks are doing over neighbors being taken out of their homes in the middle of the night and the public hanging of gays is not hyperbole. Gotcha.

Nothing, it was a response to your post that had nothing do with kalm's hyperbole.

Garland was Obama's appointment. Did Hillary say she'd appoint him too? And what about Garland makes him radical? It's your area of expertise so I'm genuinely curious. Or is it that he's to the left of Scalia (who was clearly not an moderate).

And who else would Hillary have appointed?

Right. The massive run on guns and ammo had nothing to do with a prospective Clinton presidency. :dunce: :dunce:

Hillary Clinton wrote:And I feel strongly that the Supreme Court needs to stand on the side of the American people, not on the side of the powerful corporations and the wealthy. For me, that means that we need a Supreme Court that will stand up on behalf of women’s rights, on behalf of the rights of the LGBT community, that will stand up and say no to Citizens United, a decision that has undermined the election system in our country because of the way it permits dark, unaccountable money to come into our electoral system.

Hillary has been mum about Garland -- not that it matters now. A review of Garland's record on the DC Circuit shows that he is hostile to gun rights (based, among other things, on his vote to reconsider en banc DC gun restrictions that had been unanimously invalidated by a 3-judge panel) and deferential to federal agencies against business interests, siding with the NLRB 16 times out of 16 and favorable to EPA regulations as well. A New York Times article charted his record against that of the four sitting SCOTUS liberals and found him to the left of Kagan and Breyer and slightly to the right of Sotomayor and Ginsburg. Nothing to suggest that he wouldn't be a solid liberal vote on issues like campaign finance, abortion, and the administrative state.

And bear in mind that Hillary, if elected with a Democratic Senate, would have nominated nobody less liberal than Garland. Picture a Court with 5 Liz Warrens on it.

It's not a tangent. It directly relates to one of the things you dismissed as hyperbole.

We will never know, will we. But I can guarantee it would have been a liberal judge.

Well, we know that Hildabitch wanted to overrule Citizens United, which makes her a know-nothing radical who would have made that a litmus test for the SCOTUS. But she didn't figure that such a ruling might put the Clinton Foundation out of business.

Not quite kalm. Clearly you implied that Hillary would be appointing middle of the road folks maybe even slightly to the right...
kalm wrote:a center right politician like Hillary appoint moderates to the court!
Hillary would have appointed judges FIRMLY in the liberal camp. Please tell me you don't suggest otherwise.
