BALTIMORE (WBFF) - So far, 2017 has not proved to be a fresh start for Baltimore.
January saw a big spike in violence and crime almost across the board.
"We know January is always one of our historically bad months, but this is one of the worst ever, and it's unacceptable," says City Councilman Brandon Scott.
Looking at Baltimore citywide crime data, year to date from Jan. 1 to Jan. 28, shootings are up 110 percent in Baltimore, with 88 this year compared to 42 last year.
Carjackings are up 107 percent. There were 56 carjackings up from 27 in January 2016.
Robberies are increasing as well. There were 365 last year and 480 this year.
And there were 606 burglaries in Baltimore this January, up from 496 last year.

Certain minorities don't go out in the cold much, so that's the only thing I could extrapolate from that data.

Maybe the B'More residents should start applying for sanctuary from the violence in other cities. They can form a long refugee line, cross the state border, and stream into Washington, DC on their way to San Francisco.

Hell, send them to NYC through Philly, Camden, and Trenton.
