Starr and Mueller were operating under different regulations. Mueller's report was confined to prosecution decisions and declinations.

Mueller declined to make a prosecution decision regarding Trump because of the 1973 OLC memo preventing an indictment of a sitting President. He said that in his report and he reiterated it again today. Congress is the appropriate body to handle it.... as flawed as that reality is... This is the judge that NSA Director Michael Rogers went to because his compliance check found that 85% of the queries were not done properly. In addition, contractors were allowed to use the system.

Rogers was the reason Trump tweeted that Obama wiretapped him. Rogers went to Collyer and spilled the beans on the illegal searches. I'll post a link to her redacted release when I get on the computer.

While Treehouse may be biased, they admit mistakes and have only changed story once. Thinking Russia collusion was to get rid of Trump, to believing it is now a cover up for the domestic surveillance.

In reading the article it looks like he's not afraid to talk to the Feds in general. Just seems that he has a problem with the Barr inquiry. I say that because of this excerpt from the article:

The source close to Steele’s company said Steele would not cooperate with Durham’s probe but might cooperate with a parallel inquiry by the Justice Department’s Inspector General into how U.S. law enforcement agencies handled pre-election investigations into both Trump and Clinton.

Steele also cooperated with Mueller’s investigative team, voluntarily submitting to two interviews in September 2017. He also gave written testimony to the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee in August 2018, the source said.

I suspect he thinks the Barr inquiry is political. Imagine that.

Ok I want to go on record a little more than an hour before Mueller makes a statement scheduled for 11 AM EDT that Mueller is still an employee of the Department of Justice and I think that, as such, he would not be being allowed to make such a statement unless 1) Barr and Trump know what it is and 2) it is not in any way damaging to Trump.

I just finally saw a talking head point out that this is a Department of Justice Press Conference. She asked if people really think Mueller's going to say anything Barr doesn't want said.

In fact I think it's likely that he'll say something that Trump will like hearing.

Different paradigms. Starr was an independent counsel reporting directly to Congress. We can't know what Mueller would've said had he not been restricted by the DOJ policy about a sitting President not being subject to charge.

I do think the Democrats should avoid starting an impeachment process unless and until Republicans in the Senate start to show some integrity. Maybe they could do an impeachment inquiry then, when they report the obvious (that Trump committed impeachable offenses) they can say, "but we are not going to start impeachment proceedings. And the reason is we know that it would be a waste of time because the Republicans in the Senate have no integrity."

Why does that matter? Can people not have a political bias but act professionally? Seems to me that you are triggered. And what is a "rabid Dem"? That's a straw man argument. Where's the proof that he hates Trump? Mueller is a life-long Republican, which is more than Trump can say. Did you even listen to what the man said? It's obvious you didn't, otherwise you would know why he didn't say Trump committed a crime

if we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.

You may not like the investigation into Russia interfering with our election, and I don't understand why would you not. Mueller truly is the "last Boy Scout in Washington." The man worked hard and made his determination. You just don't like the outcome.


Face it - Trump is a shady as shit person who has more than likely committed the crimes of trying to obstruct justice. You're too partisan and divided to put country ahead of party.
