Manafort's plea deal contingent upon cooperating "fully, truthfully, completely, and forthrightly" in "any and all matters as to which the Government deems the cooperation relevant."

I thought I read where he stated he wanted his family to have a good life and knew they would duck the bucks out of him. So he simply got it over without all the expense.

He had to admit to the crimes and accept the associated forfeitures that were mistrials in the first EDVA trial.
~$30,000,000 extra in forfeitures. Lost 4 properties, a life insurance property, and a bunch of bank accounts.
For a greedy political mercenary... really makes you wonder what his motivation to run a presidential campaign for free.
