I'm with Trump. Pink steak just doesn't taste as good.

You gotta put ketchup on a well done steak just to add moisture and flavor. If your steak is done properly, with some pink in the middle, you don't need ketchup.

You're right. Pink steak is also over cooked and doesn't taste good compared to rare steak. Pink steak and beyond is for people who like to waste money just to say they are eating steak. You are the dandy-fancy here.

I also heard that this is the first White House in something like 100 years to not have a dog.

Never trust someone who eats their steak well done...with ketchup...and who doesn't like dogs...

I get what you are saying, I see people that won't try food different ways, only eat meat and potatoes. I've just gotten to the point where it's "to each his own" and enjoy the food the way I want to enjoy it, and I'm pretty open to eating a pretty wide variety of food and styles.

Why is it "ridiculous"? A lot of people just assume people who eat it well done have never had it with any pink. I have had rare steak before and the taste kind of reminds of when you bite your tongue really heard and start bleeding your mouth.

It's really not a lot different in my mind than when people think you're a bumpkin if you don't think some four-star-rated barbecue place in a big city is any better than Chilis, when there's more than enough experimental evidence it's all really a placebo effect.

And, if you have great barbecue and slather KC Masterpiece all over it. You done fucked up some good barbecue. If you order a dry aged steak well done and slather ketchup all over it... you done fucked up a good steak.

Anything over medium-rare is an abomination. Eaters of well-done steak should be cast off into oblivion, or thrown out of the Garden of Eating.

Well done = cooking almost all the flavor, moisture & tenderness out of a steak which means you need a sauce to add some flavor & moisture. But flavor & moisture put on the outside of a steak can't make up for flavor & moisture lost from inside of a steak. And the only way to get some of that tenderness back would be to soak it in au jus. There's a reason steaks are cooked to medium rare at cooking competitions..

I hate to defend Trump on anything but why the hell would anyone care how he likes to eat his steak?

For the record I like my steak well done as well. But I don't like ketchup on anything. I don't like ketchup.
