Teacher Handles Delicate Situation

Post by Gil Dobie »

A friend of mine, that is a substitute teacher, told me about this the other day.

Last week, a little 6th grade girl comes up to him, as the class was quietly working independently. She whispered to him, "Joey drew a picture of a gun!" he asked her if he pointed it at her and she said, "No, but he knows he's not supposed to do that." He told her, he would speak to him. He tapped Joey on the shoulder and asked him about it and he owned up to it. He then told Joey to fold it up and pretend he had a concealed weapons permit. He was OK with that. My friend said it was probably his last day at that school.

"Suzie, it's not nice to tattle tale. Don't tell me what Joey is doing unless he you think he is going to hurt you or someone else!"

"Suzie, maybe he is trying to protect you. Ever think of that?"

What are boys supposed to draw if they can't draw guns, swords, knives, tanks, etc?

These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?
