Cuts across the board in most major departments.
Of course, he makes up for that with increases in spending for defense and DHS.
More tanks for police departments and crates of ammo and M16s for the NOAA and NIST!

As noted many times by many people: Looking for a solution to the United States' long term fiscal problems in the form of cutting non-defense discretionary spending cuts is futile. Not that one shouldn't do it if that's appropriate. But it's failing to deal with the real problems.

I just wish it was complete and neutral cuts across the board...
20% off the top of EVERYTHING is a fine place to start
oh well

Very, very disappointed in this budget effort.
My plan....20% off everything. Then start cutting entire departments:
Eliminate DHS - move coast guard back to the pentagon
Eliminate DOE
Eliminate IRS - Implement graduated flat tax
Eliminate CFPB
Eliminate NCUA - redundant regulators
Eliminate VA medical system
Exit the UN - Kick UN out of New York
This list goes on and on....

Let's make DoD waste even GREATER!
Pentagon buries evidence of $125 billion in bureaucratic waste
- December 5, 2016
The Pentagon has buried an internal study that exposed $125 billion in administrative waste in its business operations amid fears Congress would use the findings as an excuse to slash the defense budget, according to interviews and confidential memos obtained by The Washington Post.
Pentagon leaders had requested the study to help make their enormous back-office bureaucracy more efficient and reinvest any savings in combat power. But after the project documented far more wasteful spending than expected, senior defense officials moved swiftly to kill it by discrediting and suppressing the results.
The report, issued in January 2015, identified “a clear path” for the Defense Department to save $125 billion over five years. The plan would not have required layoffs of civil servants or reductions in military personnel. Instead, it would have streamlined the bureaucracy through attrition and early retirements, curtailed high-priced contractors and made better use of information technology...
(I 'hot-linked' the chart -- it's likely to disappear like 'The Blackhole of DoD Spending')

Sorry. By DOE I meant Dept of Education. I'm unsure about Dept of Energy, and I think EPA (under the right circumstances and control) still serves a valid purpose.

I like clean water and limiting particulates in air. It should never have gotten involved in the business of trying to regulate CO2. Lead in water is bad and there's nothing theoretical about that, but the CO2 stuff is just feel-good green bullshit.
BTW, I also think it's a big mistake to cut funding for the NIH. For near-term payoffs developing new technology, it's arguably even more important than the NSF or the space program. We're on the cusp of a new generation of cancer treatments and personalized medicine.
Like I said, if you want to start making crap in the US again, it's got to be advanced stuff and not pots and pans.

Fuck off, moron. If you had even the semblance of a brain stem and the ability to cognitively function you'd know who I voted for.

-Except on border/immigration enforcement.
-Military could absorb 20% cuts by withdrawing from most overseas as has already been mentioned (ME, Europe, Asia). Navy, AF & Marines minimal downsizing (but get rid if F-35). Army could eliminate several divisions of its 10? active divisions, add several brigades to the reserves. Some of returning overseas military could be redeployed to southern border.
-Medicaid & medicare included. FICA not but FICA will take care of itself in terms of an even bigger cut. Unlike medicaid & medicare are FICA can't run a deficit and the last I heard (few years ago) was that in 2033 the surplus would run dry and would have automatic 25% cuts.

Yep. That would be a ginourmous savings just by itself even without personnel & material reductions (which of course you could have)
