Trump, like him or not, is an expert at playing the media...

Next Saturday is the annual White House Correspondents Dinner...there was much bitching by the MSM about attending a dinner where Trump was in attendance...lots of folks said "if he's coming, I'm not..."

So Trump announced he would not attend, and there was much celebrating...they even signed a comedian as the main speaking who will bash Trump mercilessly...life is good again.

Now, Trump has announced he'll be holding a big rally in Pennsylvania...next Saturday night...and lots of those folks will have to make a decision on where they are going...

You've got it backwards. The media are in HIS head. It's obviously very important to him. He's a person who wants positive media coverage. It was true when he was in private life and it's true now. He wants media "love" and he's not getting it. He wants people to say "Trump is great" and it's not happening. He wants to be seen as smart and It's clear that the media and the intelligentsia see him as an unqualified buffoon who has no business being in the position he's in. He knows it and it's killing him.

My hope is that they largely ignore his rally. Well, I'm sure Fox News will cover it. But if I were a media person planning to go to the correspondent's dinner if I was planning to do that. At this point a Trump rally isn't really news. Yes note that it happened and have some reporters who wouldn't have been at the correspondence dinner anyway do video so you'll document it when he inevitably says something stupid. But don't make too big a deal about it unless some of the stupid things he inevitably will say are SO stupid that they become big news.

The Trump rally in PA will get FAR more eyeballs watching coverage of it than watching some 'correspondents dinner'. GUARANTEED.

It's the narrative with respect to Trump right now. All we're talking about is who is getting into who's head. And I think it's more the media getting into Trump's head than visa versa. I think the media are having a good time right now. I don't think Trump is.

As already stated the more we hear that leftist line the better Trump & the conks do in 2018, and will mean Trumps re election in 2020..

Basically the story is that the 4th estate hasn't faced this much pushback exposing them for the frauds that they are since Nixon. And this has driven them batshit crazy.

I seem to recall more bitching by the media that Trump WASN'T attending than the possibility he would. And I'm pretty sure they invite comedians as "the main speaking" every year. It's one of those beltway bubble events where the insiders get to realize their self importance and for the most part average Americans don't give a shit unless they hear about how funny it was (See Stephen Colbert) after the fact. So the media will send correspondents to both and true insiders will attend the Correspondents Dinner because it's a D.C. gala affair where you need to be seen unlike a Trump rally.

Trump is good for the media just like he's good for comedians.

He's hardly playing them...it's a pillow fight at best.
