Wait...but does y Atlas agree with them?

"All of my policy recommendations to the President are directly backed by the current science, and they are in line with what many of the world's top medical scientists advise ... Career government public health officials do not have a monopoly on knowledge."
Does Atlas agree with what?

He is already reciting the policy recommendations backed by current science and experts.
Well you said something about the life sciences not being cut and dry yet here is Atlas claiming them in what he advises the president on. So....

Fauci and Atlas can be at odds and both be right. The shit they argue over isn't cleanly defined. Like masks. We know they have to help, but how much. I'm hoping we finally answer that question with some studies.

Don't forget the art part of science as well.

One is an expert in infectious diseases and the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for the past 30+ yrs. he’s been part of the swine flu, Ebola, SARs, MERS, and HIV responses in this country.

The other is an expert is medical imaging. The two aren’t equal at all.

Hate to tell you this, but Atlas could hold his own with a bureaucrat like Fauci and he has. Don't be fooled by science that isn't there. Fauci only knows as much as the science let's him and trust me, it isn't beyond Atlas.
Atlas might be able to read an Xray but when it comes to working with and understanding infectious diseases, Fauci's been doing it almost as long as Atlas has been alive.

That means shit. There comes a point where the subject reaches a point of speculation and theory.

We are there. Fauci knows no more than Atlas. They both understand the underlying science and now have to apply what they believe they understand, or what I keep referring to as the art of science.

It's one highly credentialed expert vs another and no way to know for certain who understands the big picture better. For that, we would have to look at their predictions, what did they say, and what came true.

I beg to differ. You're suggesting that a highly credentialed expert of one science is equal to a highly credentialed expert of another? That's like saying, it doesn't matter if you see a Podiatrist for your Lung Cancer. The Podiatrist is no different than an Oncologist. They are called specialists for good reason. They've specialized, above and beyond the normal medical education, to study something. You'd be foolish to think otherwise.

I'm willing to wager that in his 50 yrs of studying and working on the responses to SARS (of which COVID-19 is one many), MERS, HIV/AIDS, Ebola, Swine Flu, Bird Flu, etc... that Fauci might have a leg up on someone that hasn't been part of any of that, hasn't studied those diseases or dealt with it in any way first hand.

Now, if you want to discuss who is better at using an MRI, then it sounds like Atlas is our man. Experience matters. Education matters. We've allowed politicians to politicize a pandemic, its facts and opinions, medical advice about being safe and civic duty.

What? You defend Fauci but have no idea of his contradictions?

He's pretty much been on the wrong side before flopping on multiple topics. Only 60,000 dead, don't need masks, it's just a little virus so don't need to close down, to finally saying school is now good. Guys a total hack and proven by his horibble track record.

I'm not defending Fauci as much as i'm saying all specialists and doctors aren't equal. If they were...there wouldn't be specialists in medicine.

And wrong side? How wrongs had Der Leader been? Gone by Easter. A miracle will occur? Vaccine has been around the corner for months now. You seem to forget that COVID-19 is novel. Everyone is working with the best information at the time.
