This week in white nonsense, two white women—Kali Wilgus and Liz 'LC' Connely—decided it would be cute to open a food truck after a fateful excursion to Mexico,' the piece opened.
'The owners of Kooks Burritos all but admitted in an interview with Willamette Week that they colonized this style of food.

Should be an official government agency that dictates who can make ethnic food. On the other hand, do you have to speak Spanish to eat burritos in Portland?

I don't like that bean mush in burritos. I like beans on the side.

I haven't watched many episodes, maybe a few, but that segment had me rolling.
And the one where they are asking if the all the food, water, etc.. are cruelty free, sustainable, etc....

Agreed. The immense positives of "cultural appropriation" (although the phrase is pejorative - mixing and sharing of cultures is a better phrase) to everyone involved significantly outweigh the fabricated distress that protestors of mixing of cultures like to cite. The fact that I can eat a taco one night, make some pasta the next night, have sausage and peppers the next night, and top it off with Chinese food the next night is a wonderful thing, regardless of who's making the food each night.

Ultimately its about who's willing to do the work...
You can "appropriate" all kinds of sh!t
but if you don't then - do the work - nothing happens
The problem here is that these women were willing to do the work
Few things are more annoying than a person who is willing to outwork you

I am still mad the damn Irish culturally appropriated potatoes - that is AMERICAN FOOD.
So the next time I see a Mexican cooking in any place other than a Mexican restaurant, will this group complain?

I don't know about that, but when I see Greeks cooking Italian food, I run away. They absolutely suck at it.
