I apologize if there's already a thread on this. I did make a good faith effort to find one but you never know.
Anyway, I'm among those who think that it's really important for the Democrats but it's also a situation in which going in they were expected to use. It's the district Newt Gingrich represented, for Pete's sake. I don't think Tom Price would've been appointed HHS Secretary if Republicans didn't, at the time, think they were removing someone from a safe district. The fact that it's competitive at all is a surprise.
If the Democrat loses they'll be disappointed because they put so much money into it. But six months ago nobody would've thought there's anyway the Democrats could win the district anyway. If the Republican loses it's going to set off serious alarm bells. Actually just the fact that it's close should be setting off alarm bells.
