This story is starting to get some traction.

Not long after Justine Ruszczyk called 911 to report a possible assault near her home, an officer shot and killed her.

That was Saturday night. Three days later, investigators still haven't explained why police shot the Minneapolis woman.

The Somali-born Minnesota police officer alleged to have shot and killed an unarmed Australian woman on Saturday had been lauded by Minneapolis’ mayor and feted by the local community when he joined the force in 2015.

If I see the word "feted" in one more news story...

A lot of this shoot makes zero sense

The officer who fired shot ACROSS HIS PARTNER.. who was in the drivers seat... through the patrol car door ...

Unless this guy was certifiably nuts, I am smelling a negligent discharge here (used to be called an accidental discharge)

But even so, why would this idiot be drawn and pointing in the vicinity of his partner anyway?

And then even after the shoot, they didnt turn on their body cams, per policy. Maybe that was just a function of the panic of just having shot someone- who knows

Doesn't seem to make sense unless it was an accidental discharge. Surely these guys get schooled about not putting your finger in the trigger guard until you identify the target.

As an aside, make a note that the link is to a CNN story on the incident. There are those who claim the "mainstream media" in general and CNN in particular don't report stuff like that.

I think he's referring to the claim by some that the msm only reports white on black crime.

CNN never mentioned the country of origin of the shooter, but mentioned the country of origin of the victim. Both are/were US Citizens from what I've read on other sites.

So where are the riots? The looting? The mass protests on the freeway? Where is WhiteLivesMatter?

They are calling it a homicide which might change, but reverse the colors and I doubt that's where they start from.

I assume his partner will go on disability with a hearing loss.

Yup. If it was a white cop and black woman this would be a hate crime. We'd see Foot Lockers and 711s on fire and/or being looted. Squad cars would be set on fire, there'd be a protest on the interstate and the cops family would be haunted with threatening phone calls.

But white people don't get up in arms like others do.


I'd be pissed if I was the partner: firing your weapon across me and inside a vehicle. I would imagine the sound was disorientating.

It is always called homicide

In any shooting where you don't pull the trigger on yourself, the ME's report reads, "homicide"

2. 1921. Riots started after alleged black on white crime. Reparations awarded 2001 after commission established that city government was in on it.
3. 1919. Both sides guilty of violence, although blacks got the worst of it.
4. 1963. Three of the four Klansmen were eventually tried and convicted for murder. Fourth died before he could be charged.

Try harder. Maybe something after the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

CNN finally mentions background of policeman.

There's a predictable pattern to the aftermath of too many deadly police shootings: Neighbors and anti-police brutality groups take to the streets. Groups supporting the officers stand up for them. Social media lights up over whether the victim "did something" to provoke the officer.

But none of that holds true in the case of Justine Ruszczyk, a white Australian bride-to-be who was killed by Mohamed Noor, a Somali-American black police officer in Minneapolis.
And that, say experts, speaks volumes about the state of America today.
