Where's the anti-war left?
When it comes to this new group, the alliance of Democrats with the most extreme neocon elements is visible beyond the group’s staff leadership. Its board of advisers is composed of both leading Democratic foreign policy experts, along with the nation’s most extremist neocons.

Thus, alongside Jake Sullivan (national security adviser to Joe Biden and the Clinton campaign), Mike Morrell (Obama’s acting CIA director) and Mike McFaul (Obama’s ambassador to Russia) sit leading neocons such as Mike Chertoff (Bush’s homeland security secretary), Mike Rogers (the far-right, supremely hawkish former congressman who now hosts a right-wing radio show); and Bill Kristol himself.

Welcome to the party, klam

I've been saying for forever that neoconservatism crosses party lines - it has nothing to do with classical conservatism OR liberalism

the author seems to think its odd though - which means he doesnt understand it

Yep. Scoop Jackson, Moynihan... They were also anti-new left and some favored social conservatism.

Labels are tricky, movements are dangerous.

Other famous neo-conservatives:

Irving Krystol
Dick Cheney
Paul Wolfowitz
Dick Bennet
Jeanne Kirkpatrick
Richard Pearle
Fred Barnes
Bill Krystol
Jonah Goldberg
Charles Krauthammer

A veritable who's who of Democrats...

Forget what you know about the recent history of these folks...follow them back...let me know what you find...

I'd help, but I'm not near home and don't have access to some info you'd enjoy...

I've said before that in 20 years the parties will be as different from today as today's parties are different than when Democrats were the party of segregation. This seems like one more step in that direction.

The future is one nativist, isolationist, economically-liberal party versus the economically centrist, globalist, multicultural party.

The latter party will basically take all of the Michael Bloombergs and Hillary Clintons. The first one will take a lot of Southern and Midwest Republicans and some of the Democrats.
