Wanna know what's BIG in the news overseas?

Protests in Iran

Just wanted to let you guys know - they're protesting the regime in Iran right now

Funny - the NYT just a month ago said talk of decertifying the nuke deal was going to galvanize the Iranian middle class in patriotic fervor

Found it on CNN, but had to do some digging. It's the top story on the BBC, though.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/30/world/ira ... index.html
Iranians are angry, experts say, because they expected life to get better when severe sanctions were lifted after a deal was reached in 2015 between the P5+1 and Iran over its nuclear program. The P5+1 is the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany.

Sooooo...can we basically say this nuke deal would've ultimately been self-defeating even with Hilldog as president?

I am fairly confident she would have found a way to be against it after she was for it.

I never had any worries that "the deal" would end up just like all of "the deals" we had with North Korea...

Iran is a bad actor - period... bad actors gonna bad actor

I heard about this 2 days ago on TYT. Not all U.S. News is aloof.

Sounds like the lifting of sanctions and the payments haven't....trickled down? while the price of eggs and goats milk has doubled in a week.

Day four, and little indication that the people will let up...
Anti-government protesters demonstrated in Iran on Sunday in defiance of a warning by the authorities of a tough crackdown, extending for a fourth day one of the most audacious challenges to the clerical leadership since pro-reform unrest in 2009.

Police in the center of Tehran fired water cannon to try to disperse demonstrators, according to pictures on social media.

Video posted online also showed a clash between protesters and police in the city of Khoramdareh in Zanjan province in the country’s northwest. Reuters was unable immediately to verify the authenticity of the footage.

There were also reports of demonstrations in the cities of Sanandaj and Kermanshah in western Iran as well as Chabahar in the southeast and Ilam and Izeh in the southwest.

Tens of thousands of people have protested across the country since Thursday against the Islamic Republic’s unelected clerical elite and Iranian foreign policy in the region. They have also chanted slogans in support of political prisoners.

Demonstrators initially vented their anger over economic hardships and alleged corruption but they took on a rare political dimension, with a growing number of people calling on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to step down.

It was the headline on CNN.com the day CID posted, and has continued to be since.

Also, nothing is going to come of this. Iran is a disarmed society. The Government will only let happen what they want to let happen.

C'mon folks. This is Iran. They're the NY Yankees of terrorist/hardline fundamentalist states. They try to soften us up by inviting the US wrestling team for a tournament once in awhile and playing nice with nuke inspectors, and then they get back to being world-class sand n*****s once the cameras are gone.

Liberals will tell you how great a society the Persians were historically, but they gave up their cultured past in 1979 in favor of radical islam.

Well since we're going all racists, aren't Iranians ethnically different than Arabs? Isn't there animosity between the two groups? Perhaps you might want to use "sand mulattos" or "Middle East Team Brown", or halfarabcans" next time just to be safe.
