Wait, if it left DC travelling north at 125 mph and broke apart in Maryland at 11:20am, what time did it leave Union Station?

Why is being Puerto Rican relevant here? Poor infrastructure?

If you didn't see it leave, did it really leave?

Federal employees should get a large raise to prevent things like this from happening.
Please write to your Congressmen.

I would, but I'm afraid I'll make him angry and he'll body slam me. He is from Jersey and all.

The said there’d be no math involved. This is math.

I'm not sure he's in the joking mood. After the accident in Virginia I sent him a text of "Trying to kill the GOP, WTF?" and it was met with no response.

I take the Northeast Regional all the time. I don't get molested by security, the trains are clean with free wifi, and it's quicker from city-to-city than airline travel (between DC-NYC...takes longer to Boston).
That said, I do hear Amtrak has quite a few issues outside of the Northeast, But at least between DC and Boston, a ton of people prefer Amtrak over airlines (including myself).

I think the only place it works well is in that small DC-NYC corridor. Big populations, small area, urban centers, relatively straightforward with the tracks.

Have taken the Empire Builder both east and west. Pleasant trip with great service.

I've only ridden Amtrak a couple of times, but I found it more pleasant than flying. Pretty low bar I know, but.....
