They're trying to send people to Mars. When did NASA do that?

Were side boosters returning to Cape Canaveral before SpaceX or were they just falling to earth? Were core boosters returning to a ship in the ocean or just falling to earth waiting to be picked up?

That's just cool. I don't recall the boosters from Discovery separating then finding their way back to Fla.

Yup - just like NASA. Image

I will all but guarantee you none of us will any person walk on Mars in our lifetimes. It's going to take more than a gimmicky booster-rocket landing to get there.

I'm just sick of people gushing over Elon Musk who is nothing but a corporate welfare queen.

Test flights are now gimmicky? I think you’re seeing things that aren’t there.

Indeed - this is some cool stuff. Now we can launch stuff with 3x the payload at 1/3 the cost because of returnable rockets. You have to be a determined skeptic if you aren't impressed by that.

RIGHT? Truly, something out of science fiction. People are missing an angle to things like this. These events excite people, they inspire people. We should be for discovery.

Or if you're Pwns - something NASA could do in 1978.
