Remington files for bankruptcy amid hottest gun sales market in US History...

WTF:
If you can't sell guns right now
You truly are not making anything people want
the gun market is as hot as it's ever been in US History

Brush up on the past 10-15 years of ownership under the Freedom Group. This is a surprise to nobody who knows the gun industry. Or who appreciates quality.

Whenever somebody mentions an issue with a Remington firearm on a gun forum, the obligatory response is, “is it post-2007?”

Google that shit, homie. Basically, they were bought by people who counted beans above all else. Cheap parts. Bad finishes and fit. Bad reputation since 2007.

That being said, I still bought an 870 last year. However, I paid a little extra for the Police Magnum, which still uses retro beefed-up parts (along with the Wingmaster models) and is made for duty use, instead of the cheaper bits used in the 870 Express series geared to the mass market.

One thing a firearm company should never do is compromise what made it great. Price be damned. People will pay more for quality. There’s Hi-Point for those who just ain’t care.

in 2020 the D's plan to run a Biden/Obama ticket and their platform will be total and complete gun ban. The
fix is in already.

I'd argue we'd only get 4 more years (or less depending on when Biden would pass away). I think you could argue that Obama could be on the ticket as VP and could serve out the rest of Biden's elected term as the President, but that he couldn't run for his own term as President after that as that runs afoul of the 22nd amendment. Constitutionally speaking of course. :coffee:

While you got the cliff notes version earlier in the thread, gun sales have been down under Trump.

True over his whole term, but they certainly ticked up after Vegas and went bonkers after Stoneman Douglas and the scripted crying kids.

The past five weeks of sales are higher than any other period since the few months after Sandy Hook. The only difference between now and then is that the warehouses had such a glut of weaponry this time that the prices didn't spike much. Same deal with ammo. There's plenty of it at the moment.

That being said, this is the most turnover they've seen in six years, so if one more school gets shot up this year, expect serious shortages and price spikes.
