Trump's feud with Amazon

Add this to the list of things I thought I'd never see in politics...a company that has been vilified for the very low rate of taxes it pays relative to its profits and is known as a notoriously bad place to work has Jimmy Kimmel and other donks and lefties coming to its defense as Trump brings up the very things they use to slam it for.

And WaPo (owned by Jeff Bezos) rushes to the defense of Amazon (I'm guessing we won't see any complaints about that).

It goes both ways.

Trump said it was "smart" of him to pay no income tax. But, bashes Amazon for it (even though they do pay, just lower than they should).

And, I'm also guessing we won't see any SEC complaints about Trump tanking a stock on false information.

Amazon is either adhering to the present tax laws or they are not...
It's pretty simple

Of course criticism coming from a President that won't show his taxes is pretty hilarious

:dunce:

What you're seeing here is corruption and abuse of power.

I also wouldn't be surprised if just the fact that Bezos is way richer than Trump is bugs Trump.

What's hilarious to me is that Amazon is benefiting greatly from being criticized by Trump

Under normal circumstances Amazon would be next on deck to take the mantle of evil from Wal Mart

They are everything the hard left hates... it will take someone with magical skills of hypocrisy avoidance to git after Amazon after the stolid defense that is going on now

Here's what I know... It's a sh!tty place to work
I've known over a dozen former Amazon employees

The only way they can keep employees is their stock options
It's amazing what people will do for money

So I'm not sure they're anything like Wal-Mart other than they're sh!tty places to work

I’m surprised Drumpf got only three Pinocchios for his petulant attacks against one of the most successful companies in history. Having wiped out billions of dollars in shareholder wealth with such fibs, he should be sued by every Donk plaintiff lawyer in New York.

Meh...
Trump is largely ignored (see: Market Watch)

This is pretty much how the Military views a potential Trump pushing the Red Button
The conversations have been had already... Nobody is going to respond

This is just more BS from our Con Artist in Chief. More hypocrisy.

He's picking winners and losers. He doesn't care about Disney/Fox merger but his DOJ is up in arms over AT&T/Time Warner. Is it Horizontal vs Vertical merger?

or is it CNN(fake news) vs Fox News (faux news)?

Sure, people buy on the dips, but the guy is farting around with the markets just because he can. Even when he doesn’t mouth off, the mere presence of his unpredictable fat ass in the WH has increased volatility substantially.

Hmmmm...
It seems the entertainment has worn thin...
Careful around here you'll get lumped in with JSO
Lots of folks around here seem compelled to defend Trump

I'm still enjoying the clown show for now

There's a difference between not voting for and not liking Trump (which I believe many of us are) and alternatingly becoming ardent Hillary-philes (which I think only JSO and dback can qualify for that weird distinction). I'm not worried about Ivy suddenly becoming a contributor to the Clinton Foundation. :thumb:

What Trump is doing is totally unacceptable. Whether it ends up hurting Amazon in the long run or not doesn't change that basic fact. It just amazes me that there are people that continue to defend and/or support this guy.

Obama got a little tired to listen to in his second term (a problem a lot of second term Presidents have trying to be relevant as a lame duck with elections for your replacement starting up almost as soon as you win your second term). But it doesn't need to be said, that Trump has gone way of the deep end in that regard, and we're only in year 2 of the first term.

I don't know how people have the energy to be incensed with every ridiculous thing Trump says or does - I would've been exhausted after the first month. I'm content to know that we're not anywhere close to the facism and overthrow of our Republic that the Resistance folks would like to think we are (you can literally find an article every day that purports to say that this is the thing that will finally push us into Nazi era facism) and I'm content knowing that the checks and balances of our government, along with the incredible amount of bureaucracy, will stop Trump from doing anything truly disastrous.

I think you're overconfident. I think the thing going on with the potential trade war with China could prove to be disastrous. And that's just one thing. No telling what will happen later.
