I don't think dealing with scumbag leaders and governments should be something we do as a matter of policy - but when there is a greater good or benefit involved, and at least a hint of a chance of success, then Im fine with it. I may disagree with the motivations or the benefits, but it is the executive's prerogative

both sides have thrown support to their share of heinous characters over the years - when their side does it - and it is almost always purely political, never pragmatic

It was a different approach, so even though Kim appears to be following the typical Kim script I'm fine with Trump having tried it

now what will be key is whether Trump insists that Kim is on the level in spite of evidence to the contrary (the Baghdad Bob Ben Rhodes approach), or he goes back to the rocket boy rhetoric

I dont think many people realize that the belligerent rhetoric really moves the needle with the Chinese
