Started for BDK, so he can talk about black people and white democrats who did not evacuate and had to be rescued....

...and how Trump had all the pieces in place for quick response...

...and it was the greatest response ever, that much I can tell you...

aaaand....

Go!

I think this is a relatively easy one as far as Federal response goes.

I continue to think that G.W. Bush got dealt the worst hand ever with this sort of thing with Katrina. ANYBODY who was President at the time would've ended up getting reamed.

And yes I know the Puerto Rico Maria thing was pretty bad in terms of the power being out for so long and all. But it wasn't Katrina and it wasn't even close. The death toll thing came out looking kind of high because they've got a governor who is a scientist and was sophisticated enough to contract out for a very sophisticated analysis. But it wasn't as bad as Katrina.

Just for reference: With this one they were talking about a 9 to 12 foot storm surge. Katrina had a storm surge of at least 27.8 feet (see https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/ ... ntents.asp). And that's just what was definitely recorded. There were places where it was probably higher than that.

Then there was the thing with the levees breaking in New Orleans. Of course G.W. Bush was not responsible for that. At all. But it created a bunch of problems he was held responsible for.

Wind is only 1 part. There’s rain. There’s the energy of the storm. Cat 1 is only the wind. The stall and the water are going to be the story.

All week I was seeing headlines like "Storm of a Lifetime" and "Never seen anything like this" only to have the storm get its strength sapped over the ocean. And then the media pooh poohed that loss of strength, but because of that you will have maybe a dozen fatalities instead of hundreds.

The storm is really picking up...lots of rain and a steady, 20mph rain.

Trees are falling all over Charlotte and even crushed a woman and her infant child.

Meanwhile- I killed it playing Golden Tee last night.
