I believe I have discovered the new standard by which we function politically
Bullshit asymmetry principle
the bullshit asymmetry principle (also known as Brandolini's law[13][14]) states that:
The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it.
Brandolini's law emphasizes the difficulty of debunking bullshit.[19] In contrast, the faster propagation of bullshit is an old proverb: "a lie is halfway round the world before the truth has got its boots on".[20]

I'd reply with a thoughtful post, but it's not worth the effort.

Zero points for not quoting your source.

There are exceptions to the BAP.
Case in point, a conservative friend just posted a meme on how we're a republic and NOT a democracy.
I replied with: "So we’re not a democracy? Huh. Sure about that?"
His response: "Positive, we are a republic" and then some mumbo jumbo about the pledge of allegiance.
My reply: That's not what I asked. China is also a republic."
Then a friend of his told me I was wrong and linked to an article comparing democracies and republics where it clearly states what a pure democracy is (which we're obviously not) and how the US is a democratic republic (I added constitutionally limited, representative... to throw them a bone.)
It took me far less time to make those FB replies than I've spent here replying to your post, Chizzy....
But that might also support your theory.

We're both - a Democratic Republic. Your friend is dumb.

That was my point but democracy hatred is a new pastime for certain conks.

And there’s plenty of empirical evidence for it right here on CS.com! Somebody other than JSO should undertake a statistical study of it. Good on ya, Chizzang.

Exactly. The bastardization of my wonderful Intelligent Design threads is one example.
