Idiot was holding up a Trump 2020 sign as his roller coaster passed a photo checkpoint.
No, this isn't censoring of politics, though he'll likely claim that it is. All Disney parks have rules banning ANY type of banner, and they don't selectively enforce it. The dude REPEATEDLY did this, including one time with a MAGA sign.
Conservatism is a good philosophy. Why do we have to have such nincompoops to ruin it for us?!?

Saw this thread and thought it had to be a MJ thread.
As far as things people do in the name of their politics, this is really, really mild. Not like he's ripping the head off the Donald Duck costume in front of children.

There is no indication this Trump fan is a Conservative...
True conservatives don't seem particularly enamored with Trump

You probably think Bill Kristol, Jonah, Goldberg, Max Boot and the Bush family are true conservatives.

There is no such thing as a "true" conservative. I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Am I not a conservative? Trump is not a fiscal conservative and neither was Dubya. The whole far right angst over RINOs is preposterous and short-sighted.

Well being fiscally conservative is one of the foundations of conservatism - as is the desire for limited, decentralized government
it might be hard to nail down a "true" conservative but you can certainly eliminate anyone who doesn't check those boxes

Which is my beef with isms and ists. Very few people fit the complete definition thereby making the words pointless.

You don't get satire. I've been ranting about labels and ideologies for years and think their use and misuse is fascinating. Try keeping up with realism, ya italionist!

This seems to be a big problem for the Republican Party....they don't know who they are.
Love or hate the Democratic Party....they know who they are. They don't waver on things like equality for all and protection of the environment.

So in one breath you accuse the entire GOP for being against equality and protection of the environment, but now you say there are GOP members who are for them?
But I do agree with you that that there is no dissent allowed in the Dem Party.

I didn't know that retribution for past inequalities = equality for all. As a middle aged white male I don't feel like the Democratic party is very receptive to me unless I'm willing to confess to being a sexist, racist spawn of Satan and while I'm far from perfect I don't think I'm that bad.
The extremes of both parties have taken if you're not with us you're against us positions.

You don't have much reading comprehension do you? I was simply stating that the Democratic Party consistently states and supports certain basic things.....they know who they are. The Republican Party (as an organized political party) is truly fucked up right now. You are in denial if you don't agree with that.
Maybe you should stop letting your blind hatred of me screw with your ability to disseminate information.

If you just go about your everyday middle aged white man life without sexually assaulting a woman, beating up a gay guy, or shooting an unarmed black man....you'll be fine.

Who said I don't agree with that? What I don't agree with is that the Dem party is somehow any better or more cohesive. The ONLY thing the Dems are cohesive on is their hatred of Trump and the GOP.

While I'll buy the idea that the Democratic party is more cohesive than the GOP is right now, I'd argue that they stand for general ideas, but are just as confused and divided over how to translate those grand ideas into actual, actionable things. Take gun control. All Democrats are supposedly for "common-sense gun laws". I mean, who can be against that, it's common sense, right? Now, what does that actually mean? Some are for banning guns that look like military guns. Some are for universal background checks. Some are for mental health restrictions on gun ownership (and in that group there's a wide range of what consititutes actionable mental health). Some are for out and out banning of all guns. It's such a big tent that while there's agreement over the "common-sense" idea there's a wide gulf over what to actually do.
And frankly, the biggest thing holding the Democratic Party together right now is the hatred of all things Trump. It's like how the GOP was able to pull together all those folks who didn't like Obama and how the Dems before that were able to pull together all the folks who hated Dubya. There is some advantage in a shared mission that the party out of the White House has. It's why you don't see one party have more than 2 or 3 terms in a row in control of the White House.

And if you don’t consistently support 100% of that ideology you will be summarily drummed out of the party. Godforfuckingbid you have a mind of your own.
