Disturbing

I'm talking about the observation that, as of now, an estimated 41 percent of people in the US view Trump favorably (https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epoll ... -5493.html). This is different than job approval. One can say, "Yes, the guy is awful but I think he's doing a good job."

Trump is a pathological liar. He lies practically every time he opens his mouth. He has spent his whole adult life cheating and scamming people. He is a 72 year old man who acts like a 10 year old. He is a complete asshole.

The fact that 41 percent of people say they view him favorably is just incredible and it does not speak well with respect to the population of the United States.

And it's particularly bad among Republicans and/or Conservatives. The YouGov poll at that link indicates that 90% of Republicans and 83% of Conservatives have a favorable opinion of him. This from people who have historically insisted that character matters. Never mind that Trump is a zero character person.

Is there anything new here that you haven't already said 100 times?

You're as screwy as Trump

The silence from the intellectual conservatives is what makes me the saddest...
These are the guys that argued the strengths of conservative values and character

and they are uniformly silent except for the occasional blurt from Shapiro
which consists of him very quietly saying once "I wish he wouldn't do that"
in the middle of a 20 minute piece on how the left has lost it's mind

If Trump does end up tanking the economy there will literally be nothing to salvage from his term

I can name others in the conservative press who have fought the good fight. George Will. Steve Chapman. Jonah Goldberg. Rich Lowry. John Podhoretz. The trouble isn’t the lack of intellectual leaders: it’s the lack of political leaders.

I guess Justin Amash is the most consistent conservative political voice against Trump, but at heart he’s an L in R clothing. Rand Paul carries the flag more often than not, but he’s had some lapses.

I’ll bet that at least one conservative takes on Drumpf in the primaries — at least the early primaries. If the economy tanks, there will be several entries.

John kinda reminds me of that way-over-the-top homophobe who's willing to do just about anything short of gassing the gays, but will be first guy in line at the local all male massage parlor.

After running there, shirtless, barefoot, and in jeans.

When your subject matter hits home those that are the most troubled by it will attack you personally...

I would LOVE to see the ACTUAL question and the way it’s worded. Because worded a certain way even I might say I view Trump favorably. I’m sure many, many people might answer that question in the context of what he’s accomplished, not based on his personality or his demeanor.

Any deep thinker, regardless of political persuasion should look at that number and pause for at least a second and go "whoa" I'm surrounded by idiots. His dumbassery is top shelf. The speech he gave in Pleasure, CA about Finland being a forest nation and raking the forests...     But that's not unusual...it's daily. I'm seriously wondering sometimes if it's all and act.

His hatred of gays is curious. Something personal that we will probably never be privy too.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I wonder how many Republicans are willing to sacrifice their own personal wealth & the economic well-being of their family to stay on the Trump Train? Is their hatred of all things Democrat so deeply imbedded and personal that they are literally willing to self-sacrifice just to get revenge on their political "enemies"?

My guesses for the 2 biggest reasons for their political hysteria:

1. Black man elected as President

2. 30 years of Fox News lies.

I approve of the job Trump is doing making a mockery of a system that needs to be mocked. He is this country's past-due reckoning. For now I'm sitting back and enjoying the fireworks. Getting up every day with a stick up your arse for Trump because he's a politician without the veneer of bullshit seems pointless.

Economist/YouGov:
"Do you have a favorable or an unfavorable opinion of the following people?"

Harvard/Harris:
"Now we will show you some names or groups. Please indicate if you have a favorable or unfavorable view of that person or group - or if
you've never heard of them."

Fox News:
" I’m going to read you the names of several individuals, items, and groups. Please tell me whether you have a generally favorable or unfavorable opinion of each one. If you’ve never heard of one please just say so."

CNN:
"We'd like to get your overall opinion of some people in the news. As I read each name, please say if you
have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of these people -- or if you have never heard of them."

Exactly but I do feel bad about picking on John because I'm pretty sure he has Asperger's.

Well, if those are the actual way the questions are worded, I’d answer them in the affirmative. But that’s because I judge Trump based on his accomplishments, not based on his words/stupidity/tweets/hair/etc.
