- $1.00 off coupon for a hoagie at Wawa
That's generous.

I'll throw in a collection of newspapers my grandmother had so you can keep warm. They range from 1946-2010 so you should have plenty to to keep you warm for a while.

I'll be sending you this book for entertainment.

I can donate an unopened 1993 Colorado Rockies Commemorative Coke bottle, and a hat from the Field of Dreams to keep your head warm.

Can the hat make hookers from 1919 appear from the treeline next to my house?

It didn’t work for me, but I am in Utah so the Mormons might have stopped them.

Total sarcasm. Well, until probably April or May.

But by all means, help out any new federal employees who have student loans and DC area rent/mortgage and not many years to establish a nest egg. I feel bad for them. We just had a girl join our agency in that situation. She is sweating bullets and calling creditors right now. Good chance she leaves the civil service is this carries on another couple of weeks.
So what you're saying is you may have a cash flow issue? I can help with that. HI54UNI's payday loan service is available. Let me know your address and I'll send my colleagues Vinny and Tony over to do the paperwork.

The Coast Guard will miss their first semi-monthly paycheck tomorrow due to Trump's wall demand. The irony (and injustice) is real.
Twenty-four days into the longest government shutdown in US history, the strain is being felt acutely by the US Coast Guard, as some 42,000 active-duty members are preparing to miss their first paycheck on January 15.

In a January 10 letter, Vice Commandant Adm. Charles Ray said that without an appropriation or funding measure, "the Coast Guard will not be able to meet the next payroll,"...

Officials have have advised Coast Guard families that, "to get by without pay, consider holding a garage sale, babysitting, dog-walking or serving as a “mystery shopper.”

This is where we are as a country under Donald Trump. :ohno:

At least the economy is in such great shape that there are lots of people willing to pay for those services.
In 2012, not so much.

Man, the longer this goes on, the worse the Don's chances for reelection get. Maybe he knows that, and is just looking for a way out that doesn't technically involve quitting.

Starving a military branch is not a real smart move for a Republican president.

Or 100's of thousands of families.

Trump is fucking up. But he's too fucking stupid to listen to anyone or do anything about it. I really feel for you guys being stuck in the middle of this bullshit.

But Trump's economic adviser Kevin Hassett says this is just a vacation and we're better off. :thumb:

That's how cold the Donald Trump White House is. Peoples' lives don't really matter to him.

I just wonder how much longer Republicans will continue to allow Trump to lead them over the cliff. There is a clear association between this government shutdown and Trump going further under water in terms of job approval. Here is today's RCP chart with a line indicated to show where things were the day before the shutdown started:

Image

Even the flipping Rasmussen poll that is tied for 7th in terms of being biased towards the Republican side among 396 polls rated by 538 now has him under water by 12 percentage points (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_ ... ex_history).

Meanwhile his Favorability rating at in terms of RCP averages are more under water than Pelosi's and Schumer's are. And, in the table below, the only person who is more under water than Trump is McConnell:

Image

I know the Republicans are in a tough spot. To win within their Party they need to pander to the nut job Trump zombies who are totally divorced from reality. But are they going to realize that, at some point, pandering to the nut job Trump zombies is going to destroy the Republican Party?
