I didn't want to be the one to say 180 was only a half turn.

Once I got to to college and out of Catholic school my political leanings shifted dramatically.

Much to your detriment.

I was actually a liberal before I went to Harvard. That experience pushed me about 120 degrees to the right.
I was a lib all the while I was in college, then I got to the real world and got educated.

I think that the Republicans are blind to the fact that the ground is shifting beneath their feet. They are going to the well of trying to scare people about socialism, government control, taxing the rich, etc. And they apparently don't realize that people are not afraid of socialism, government control, taxing the rich, etc. as they used to be. Most people believe climate change is a problem that needs to be addressed. Most people believe health care is a right. Most people believe government should tax the hell out of the super rich to pay for benefits for everybody else. Whether that means the Republicans get killed in 2020 is uncertain. But the trends for the long term indicate that the Republican position is not tenable. The Party is headed for oblivion unless the overall demographic and cultural trends somehow change.
Republicans are going to have trouble because the voters that elected Trumo won't vote for those POS because they haven't supported Trump. The majority of real America elected him because he's not a real republican.

We are sick of their lies and the fact that when they have the majority in congress they don't ram shit dowm the democrats throats. I hope every "republican" loses this next election........ Every fucking one

I was apolitical until college.

Went left during college, not because of the culture or certain teachers (Spokane Falls CC and EWU weren't exactly hotbeds of liberal culture) but more because of news radio (I became a junkie) which was dominated by conservatives and the rise to power of the Christian Right. I knew those guys were preachy, irrational assholes that didn't make much sense.

Owning and running a couple of different businesses and CS.com have made me the thoughtful centrist (TM) I am today. Both parties pandering to monied interests and competition and freedom crushing policies are why I remain a liberal.

I loved how HuffPo had an article of Warren claiming Pence wasn't a decent guy right above an article of how decent she was when she claimed N American rights.
