The Dems passed the funding bill in 2006
and the extended fence (it was called a fence in the bill) was passed in 2006

so I think that was like 13 years ago

That second term hasn't been one yet.

But it's good to see you'd vote for a schmuck. Why? B/c he isn't a democrat?

Much more than that.

"Mark Cuban leaves open possibility of running for president as an independent

....“We’ll see what happens. It would take the perfect storm for me to do it,” the billionaire entrepreneur and Dallas Mavericks owner said. “There’s some things that could open the door, but I’m not projecting or predicting it right now.”...

When asked who on the Democratic side has the best chance of winning, Cuban said “nobody right now.”
“If you look at why people voted for Donald Trump, in my opinion, first and foremost it was because he wasn’t a politician. ”

Cuban said the more than 20 Democratic candidates so far are all politicians. “Politicians are the least trusted of every profession,” he said....

...Cuban said most of the Democratic proposals so far are just “headline porn.” “I don’t think they believe what they’re proposing is passable,” he said. He said most of them include trickle-down taxation, which in his opinion “does not work.”

“I think that trickle-down economics is a failure. I think trickle-down taxation is just as big a failure,” Cuban said.

Cuban isn’t the first billionaire businessman contemplating an independent bid for the White House in 2020. Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz..."

If he's really that smart, and I think he is, he's not going to run for President as an Independent. You don't have to have a really high IQ to realize that under the current system there is zero chance that someone running as an Independent could win.

Change to "automatic runoff" voting and we might be able to start a conversation.

Good news from the most recent Quinnipiac poll of Pennsylvania:

https://poll.qu.edu/pennsylvania/releas ... aseID=2620

Before you say, "But the polls were wrong in Pennsylvania in 2016" understand that the Real Clear Politics average of polls had Clinton up by only 1.9 percentage points on election eve. The biggest lead she had in any poll used to calculate the average was 4 percentage points. Her lead was within poll margin of error in every case.

Quinnipiac is a quality poll. And it's got Biden up on Trump by 11 percentage points. It's got Sanders up by Trump by 7 percentage points. Only Biden is leading beyond the margin of error for the difference. But the only Democrat candidate among the 6 tested who ended up behind Trump among respondents is O'Rourke.

If the election were held tomorrow and the candidates were Biden and Trump, Biden would win in Pennsylvania. Very high confidence that would happen. Of course the election is not tomorrow and we don't know who the Democrat is going to be. But it's yet another indication that Trump is a vulnerable incumbent.

There's a particularly cool thing about that Quinnipiac poll of Pennsylvania. You can see some trend information at https://poll.qu.edu/images/polling/pa/p ... otp20.pdf/. You can see the question, "Would you describe the state of Pennsylvania's economy these days as excellent,
good, not so good, or poor?"

They list results going all the way back through a poll released February 20, 2003. Until this last May 15, 2019 poll, there is no case in which more than 46 percent of respondents said the economy in the State was either Good or Excellent. In this last poll 71 percent said it was either Good or Excellent.

Yet the same respondents favored Biden over Trump by 11 percentage points and favored Sanders over Trump by 7 percenage points. They even favored WARREN over Trump by 3 percentage points.

That says people aren't buying the idea that they need Trump because of the economy. That's a good sign even if we don't have the next downturn at an opportune time. Of course it'd still be better if we have the next downturn at an opportune time. But even if we don't, at least for now, it doesn't look like the economy is necessarily helping Trump that much.

I wouldn't mind seeing Harris make it through. Right now I'd have to say the odds of her making it through the Democrat primary are not good. But I think if she did make it through she would absolutely destroy Trump. The debates would be particularly entertaining as he would be absolutely no match for her. He'd be seen as getting the crap kicked out of him by a woman. It'd be fun.

And once minorities saw that it was realistic that she could win they'd juice up for her. I think Trump would absolutely get his head handed to him by that woman.

Every one of them is better than Trump. The 2016 GOP crew wasn't so bad. They actually did have some pretty impressive people in their number. The problem is that the GOP picked a guy who is a total atrocity. They had some good options. But they didn't pick any of them.

22 of those 24 are politicians. All except Yang and Williamson. Cuban is right- people now don’t want to vote for politicians. If the donks were smart, besides not trying to see who can go the most lefttard, they would have less politicians, and more non politicians, running among the major candidates..

I know the flip flopping topic was beat to death, but holy hell would I be afraid to work around Gillibrand.

She not only flip flops, but changes wholesale to be relevant.

She even had the audacity to throw the Clinton's under the bus the first chance she felt they were no longer useful, or dangerous, to her.

Scrambling hard to make the cut.
