Saw a Trump 2020 campaign official try to pull a fast one with respect to discussion of the Quinnipiac poll at https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-de ... aseID=2627. That poll suggests Trump isn't doing to well against some prospective Democrat candidates.

The guy said that Quinnipiac had Clinton up 7 on Trump in 2016 and acted as though that means something. The problem is that the last Quinnipiac poll prior to the 2016 election was in mid October. At that time the RCP average of polls had Clinton up by 7.1 percent over Trump. On election eve that average had dropped to Clinton up by 3.3 percent.

The same poll shows 70 percent percent of Americans thinking the economy is excellent or good while also showing Trump down by from 5 through 13 percentage points against any of the potential Democrat candidates asked about. Flipping 7 points down in the popular vote to Warren?

Yes we are a long way from 2020 election day. But there is no way results of a quality poll showing results like that are good news for an incumbent President.

I agree. I hate the caucuses and the clown show that goes with it.

Caucuses aren't dominated by the average person. Average person will go vote in a primary and go on with their day. Caucus means at least an hour commitment for Rs and probably close to 2 hrs for the Ds. Only the diehards go and they are going to be more activist types. Rs get the religious right types which is why Cruz one. Ds get all kinds of different fringes that don't like establishment. See Obama over Hillary in 08.
