I continue to be amazed at how some Democrats are determined to swim against the political currents. Harris really needed to push back at the "Kamala is a cop" ProgDonks and not do things like talk about how America's not ready for a "woman of color" president or make that silly pronouncement about her pronouns.

Boy I gotta tell ya

Al Sharpton raising hell on MSNBC a little while ago about the Dems not having a single black person in the field was high entertainment

I have to say.. my Dad who is suffering from dementia suddenly got fixated on watching MSNBC over the last year so when I’m sitting with him it’s is all that is on. I have to tune it out but that piece was entertaining as hell. The guy is completely incoherent

I saw the Sharpton rant. I think it was about not having all White people in the next Democrat debate.

Nah, Harris's problem was her track record as a law and order candidate. In this era of deregulation, as with marijuana, you can't fall back on the political career where you said you smoked but you also participated in the racially disproportionate imprisonment of small time users of the same drug you were using. Just comes off as wildly out of touch and part of the system. And she wasn't a good enough politician to be able to change the narrative on that. At some point you have to be a little more than just your demographic and she never really developed that. Heck, I think Koblucher would be a better VP option for Mayor Pete.

This is the best political theater evah...Sharpton and his fellow ProgTards on MSNBC calling the rank and file Donk voters racists and misogynists while others are calling Mayor Pete a homophobe because he was ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.

Donks are handing the election to Trump on a silver platter.

"To work for" is probably true but also superfluous.

Plus, she calls the Knights of Columbus a bunch of misogynists and then says we're bigots for not supporting her. Oooo-kay. Her sense of self-importance and lack of self-awareness will not be missed. She can go back to the Senate now and pose for more memes.

Good comparison of the type of journalism you see from CNN today and the type you see on a non-biased source, like the BBC. First piece from CNN, when determining why Kamela Harris is no longer running, centers mostly on race, or basically, only white people, males in particular, can run for office in America.

The BBC column goes in an entirely other direction, namely that Kamela tried to be both a centrist and a progressive, appealed to neither, and was labeled "Kamela is a cop" due to her previous stint of putting black people behind bars for marijuana possession why herself unwinding with a joint when not at work.

Dude, she wasn’t putting people in jail for marijuana possesion. Almost nobody goes to jail for simple possession, including under Harris.
Harris oversaw more than 1,900 marijuana convictions in San Francisco, previously unreported records from the DA’s office show. Her prosecutors appear to have convicted people on marijuana charges at a higher rate than under her predecessor, based on data about marijuana arrests in the city.

But former lawyers in Harris’ office and defense attorneys who worked on drug cases say most defendants arrested for low-level pot possession were never locked up. And only a few dozen people were sent to state prison for marijuana convictions under Harris’ tenure
.
Despite the substantial number of convictions, many of the people who were arrested for marijuana during Harris’ tenure were never locked up or never even charged with a crime, according to attorneys who worked on both sides of the courtroom.

“Our policy was that no one with a marijuana conviction for mere possession could do any (jail time) at all,” said Paul Henderson, who led narcotics prosecutions for several years under Harris. Defendants arrested for the lowest-level possession would typically be referred to drug treatment programs instead of being charged, and weightier charges for marijuana sales would routinely be pleaded down to less serious ones, he said.

Solis, who led the public defender’s office misdemeanor division for part of Harris’ tenure, agreed that her office only rarely prosecuted people for low-level, simple possession.

“Kamala Harris and I disagreed on a lot of criminal justice issues, but I have to admit, she was probably the most progressive prosecutor in the state at the time when it came to marijuana,” Solis said.

I do think it's a shame that Harris is out in that if she'd have gotten into a one on one with Trump I think she'd have kicked his ass. But it is what it is. Anybody they nominate is going to have a reasonable shot.

Kicked his ass? That’s a hot one. Harris couldn’t FIND her OWN ass with both hands.
