Fortunately, elections are about ideas. Unfortunately, both major parties have put forth candidates who are morally bankrupt.

Bernie does have more character and integrity than Biden, Trump, etc. As I stated in another thread - "I've been clear that I don't like Bernie but I do like and respect the fact that he hasn't gone after Biden during the primary. He wants to stay on message and not go negative and that shows class and integrity."
To me this just tells me he doesn't have the balls to do what is necessary to win. He should be teeing off on Biden, like 2 months ago. Instead he is already in the prone position lubing up for another DNC boning. Total pussy.
The fix was already in and he knew it. He's always been about pushing the donk platform left, he's been around long enough to know he's not an insider
Subvert the dominant paradigm

Good lord, SD. Cuck? Full retard conk level 1 achieved..... :ohno:

On another note:

“Dozens of former staffers from Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign were reportedly invited to a Zoom video call Wednesday to celebrate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) dropping out of the 2020 Democratic primary, BuzzFeed News reported.

"Invitation: Bye, bye Bernard (HFA celebration toast)," the email to the former Clinton staffers read Wednesday, less than an hour after Sanders told supporters he was ending his campaign, according to screenshots provided by two people to the outlet.

"He's finally gone (again!). Join for a celebratory toast if you can! And yes, you can loop," the message continued for the event that was set for 4 p.m.”

Whoa there Nellie. How is SD's inference that Bernie was bought off wrong but it's ok to infer that Trump was promoting hydroxychloroquine for personal gain?
Seriously? You can’t see the difference? This isn’t partisan. I have no doubt that Hunter Biden capitalized on name related corruption but there’s zero evidence I’ve seen that Bernie was paid off with a $600,000 cottage that probably wouldn’t meet HOA standards in the Hamptons.

It's not partisan when you treat one side differently than the other? I think Trump is as crooked as they come but "there’s zero evidence I’ve seen that" he intentionally promoted hydroxychloroquine for his own personal gain. How is the hyperbole and manufactured outrage over Bernie's being bought off less relevant than the hyperbole and manufactured outrage over Trump profiting from promoting hydroxychloroquine?

According to Snopes claims that "U.S. President Donald Trump will benefit financially if hydroxychloroquine becomes an established treatment for COVID-19" are mostly false ...
Trump’s financial stake in these companies is virtually negligible — contained indirectly via mutual funds — and administered through three family trusts he does not control. As a generic drug, hydroxychloroquine is unlikely to provide any one company with significant profits compared to other proprietary drugs.
I agree that Bernie was NOT paid off with his Beachfront Bungalow “summer camp” in Vermont that includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms, 500 feet lakeside with a dock, 1.13 acres, and a separate guest cottage. I think he and his wife bought it with proceeds from the sale of his book using the capitalist marketplace that he decries.

Sanders is a hypocrite. He's a millionaire with three houses who thinks that he earned and is entitled to all of his wealth and its trappings while arguing against the conspicuous consumption and wealth of others because they must have exploited others to get it.

So now you’re wealth shaming? I find that rather odd. :suspicious:

Trump has given far more reasons to be suspicious. But I’ll keep an eye on that Vermont oligarch and all his dachas if it makes you feel better.

You might need to read my post again. I'm not wealth shaming, I'm wealth shaming the wealth shamer. I'm not criticizing Bernie for being wealthy, I'm criticizing Bernie for criticizing the wealthy and acting like his wealth is different.

He is a life-long public servant who has profited greatly from that service. He "wrote a good book" while a public servant based on what he learned as a public servant. If we're going to tax the rich, let's start with a 100% tax on all public servants' earnings above their government salary while they are in office.

I don't trust Trump either. I think he's a sociopath and a con-artist who doesn't care about anyone but himself.

You and I are closer on this than you think. :thumb:

The tricky part is defining wealth. I know people on teacher’s salaries who have invested wisely and moonlighted during summers who own vacation homes and they have been retired for decades while Bernie continues to serve well into his 70’s. That’s all a far cry from Trump/Kushner wealth. Not that there is something wrong with that either...

Our perspectives are usually closer than people, you're just a little too soft-hearted ... :D

I don't envy people's wealth and I don't want to take it away. We can create opportunities for the less fortunate and level the playing field without high taxes and wealth redistribution.

He’s got 3 houses. His 3rd home is a lakehouse he bought in 2016 for $575k. But its just a ‘summer camp’ like thousands of orher Vermonters have..
https://news.yahoo.com/sanders-summer-c ... 23143.html

Not his most expensive property- his 3 total are worth close to 2 million.

I don’t care if someone has 3, or 30 homes. But Sanders is a hypocrite who slams millionaires. Good for me but not for thee. In the past has made statements: “How many yachts do billionaires need? How many cars do they need? Give us a break.”
Sanders is as bad as the private jet flying, private yacht riding, SUV riding, mansion owning limosuine liberals who decry global warming.
Maybe, but he's still right :coffee:
.
He's been pimping Marxist ideals and policies that have yet to have a successful example in history...but yeah, Sanders was right. :dunce:

If “earnings” means interest and dividends on investments you hold before entering office, that’s too broad. Just modify it to mean confiscation of extra income earned from new sources while in office — speaking fees, new investments made on the basis of inside info, etc.

Also: no more special benefits not shared with the American people: health care, lifetime pensions for limited service, exempting Congress from legislation that imposes burdens on everyone else.

Exactly. To use former Iowa Senator Tom Harkin as an example - I'm sure his wife Ruth got her job at a DC lobbying firm and Conoco Phillips put her on their board of directors because of her brilliant service as county attorney for Story County, Iowa.

I swear this is an honest post, but I don't recall Gore running on Clinton's coattails so much. I recall him running as his own man. But I've said it many times (I think), I really am worried I have some serious memory issues.

Biden can't go two minutes (hyperbole) in a debate without mentioning Obama.
