There will be a larger number of candidates in both major parties in the primaries, and more celebrities and non-politicians. Whether Trump will hurt the chances of those outsiders remains to be seen (I thought he might hurt them, but I'm having serious doubts now).

Honestly, nothing wrong with outsiders so long as they don't think they're the smartest person in the room and pick and choose when to swim against the current of the entrenched political class.

The "entrenched political class" for the most part follows the laws of the land and respect the hard work of our Founding Fathers. You guys seem to glorify Trump and his expansion of Executive power just because you want to see him "stick it to the libs". I'm not sure that you would be so excited to see the liberal version of Trump doing the same thing.

Not sure where you saw Trump glorification there. I said I thought he might damage the chances of non-politicians in the future and implied he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.

If anything Trump is a great case study of why executive power should have been reigned in during the Bush and Obama years instead of being expanded.

I don't know. I just hope "after Trump" starts on January 20, 2021. Otherwise, it's become clear that the best interests of this country would be served by the Republican Party in general being pounded into oblivion. But, for the short term, just get that atrocity out of the White House as soon as possible.

For me. I hope it would mean some actual work would get done by Congress. People are tired of electing officials and seeing nothing happen. Keep screwing off and more people like Trump will get elected.

It doesn't even have to be wins all the time either.
