2018 TAXES

I had mine done in TurboTax for over a week and just had to wait on the Passive Activity Loss Limitations (8582) form. Once that was released by IRS on Monday, I hit the e-file button on TT.

My federal return was "accepted" by IRS later the same day, and Delaware accepted my state return a day later. They say three weeks, but I'm willing to bet I get my returns in two or less.

The Trump cut lowered by effective rate 2.1% last year, so that was sweet. Delaware actually got worse.

Submitted mine yesterday and they were "accepted" by the Feds, North Carolina and South Carolina in an hour. They estimated a refund by Feb 22. We'll see.

Yeah, I was happy. I had a huge tax bill in 2017 that we've been paying monthly installments. Thankfully that'll be paid off as soon as I get that refund check. The tax rates between NC and SC are striking, that helped a lot as well.

I ran my numbers through TurboTax yesterday for a sanity check and got basically the same answer as TaxAct:evil: . This tax reform hosed me - I didn't change my witholdings from last year and yet I'm paying the Feds double what I did last year.

I'm getting enough back to pay what I still owe the Feds from 2017 and to pay off a small loan. I hve to change my withholdings this year, between a bonus and a raise i'm afraid it's going to cost me.


I'm looking forward to the $400 extra dollars a month

Just did my return.

Federal AGI up 2.1% Federal tax up 7.6%
State AGI up 2.1% State tax up 24.4%

State tax increase caused because I can no longer itemize on the federal.

Maybe Chuck and Nancy were right. This was not a good deal for me.

Yep, take the money out of the bank in withdrawls & put in under "Gifts by Cash" on your itemized deductions. You'll have the bank statements as your backup if needed....

I actually do mine by hand as well - too cheap to spend the $30-$40 on TurboTax. Free fillable forms has always worked for me.

Sorry, missed this. Yes, e-filed on Mon Jan 28. Federal funds received Mon Feb 4. Still waiting on Delaware.
