Start your own thread.

Besides, it’s the militant LEFT who won’t let a dissenting opinion be spoken. It’s not the Alt-right shutting down free speech on campuses across America.

I think this is another area such that Republicans and/or Conservatives are in their echo chamber and do not realize that public opinion is against them. It's an issue I wondered about when I posted in another thread about poll results saying people tend to think Republicans are more outside of the mainstream than Democrats are on various issues. Gun control was not included in that poll.

But there's another poll at http://www.pollingreport.com/guns.htm. There is some good news for anti gun control people in that support for the laws covering the sale of guns should be more strict was substantially lower this February than it was last February. 51% vs. 71%.

But there are other things. For example: The edge for the position that it is more important to control gun violence than it is to protect gun rights appears to be increasing.

I think gun rights people have the Constitution on their side. At least as it stands now. But I would not rule out the possibility of seeing a Constitutional Amendment on the matter.

Which 38 states will ratify repealing or amending the 2nd Amendment??

Not in our lifetimes.

Nope. That “edge” exists in about six states.

It's not there now. But things are moving in that direction. Just like Texas is moving towards becoming another California in the Electoral College. It's the king of thing that's like a dam breaking. For years and years there are not enough States. Then all of a sudden there are.

Tell me 38 states that could realistically be there - say, in the next 30 years

when we’re gone the next generations can fvck up as they see fit

Trump beat Clinton by almost 900,000 votes in 2016. It’s a looooong ways from becoming another KKKalifornia.

Reagan won California by 1.5 million votes in 1984. Then George H. W. Bush won the State by 350,000 votes in 1988. No Republican candidate has won it since and I wouldn't hold my breath about it happening in the foreseeable future.

BTW, Romney won Texas by 1.3 million votes in 2012. The Demographic trend is unmistakeable. Texas is heading for the blue column in the Electoral College. And once it gets there it ain't coming back.
