Besides, it’s the militant LEFT who won’t let a dissenting opinion be spoken. It’s not the Alt-right shutting down free speech on campuses across America.
You don't know the meaning of triggered....blah blah blah.89Hen wrote:Triggeredmainejeff wrote:The entire country should be under a 1st Amendment Sanctuary from Trump and his Republican cronies.

Which 38 states will ratify repealing or amending the 2nd Amendment??JohnStOnge wrote:I think this is another area such that Republicans and/or Conservatives are in their echo chamber and do not realize that public opinion is against them. It's an issue I wondered about when I posted in another thread about poll results saying people tend to think Republicans are more outside of the mainstream than Democrats are on various issues. Gun control was not included in that poll.
But there's another poll at http://www.pollingreport.com/guns.htm. There is some good news for anti gun control people in that support for the laws covering the sale of guns should be more strict was substantially lower this February than it was last February. 51% vs. 71%.
But there are other things. For example: The edge for the position that it is more important to control gun violence than it is to protect gun rights appears to be increasing.
I think gun rights people have the Constitution on their side. At least as it stands now. But I would not rule out the possibility of seeing a Constitutional Amendment on the matter.
Nope. That “edge” exists in about six states.CID1990 wrote:Which 38 states will ratify repealing or amending the 2nd Amendment??JohnStOnge wrote:I think this is another area such that Republicans and/or Conservatives are in their echo chamber and do not realize that public opinion is against them. It's not there now. But things are moving in that direction. Just like Texas is moving towards becoming another California in the Electoral College. It's the king of thing that's like a dam breaking. For years and years there are not enough States. Then all of a sudden there are.CID1990 wrote:Which 38 states will ratify repealing or amending the 2nd Amendment??JohnStOnge wrote:I think this is another area such that Republicans and/or Conservatives are in their echo chamber and do not realize that public opinion is against them. Reagan won California by 1.5 million votes in 1984. Then George H. W. Bush won the State by 350,000 votes in 1988. No Republican candidate has won it since and I wouldn't hold my breath about it happening in the foreseeable future.AZGrizFan wrote:Trump beat Clinton by almost 900,000 votes in 2016.
