Might be hard to believe, but a $210,000 income isn't enough to make it to the 'upper' class in Bellevue.
A new study out by GOBankingRates put middle class in Bellevue at incomes between $70,268 and $210,804. Median income in Seattle's biggest suburb is a whopping $105,402.

Because at some point Clitz will be able to segue into how he’s middle class in Bellevue

The topic is interesting because it shows how broken a system we have right now
and how I can't wait to move away from this rat race town

By comparison... the median household income in Medical Lake, WA is $42,000. Same country, same state, same laws. Of course ML doesn’t have a Bell-Square where a young kalm used to go after junior golf tournaments to cruise preppy Bellevue chicks, pick up some sweet RL Polo shirts, and the latest Duran Duran cassette.

Seattle has gone over the cliff...
into a level of financial insanity that I just can't make sense of anymore
The girlfriend and I are starting to get serious about Bend Oregon these days

I think they've long since exceeded their quota of smug pricks.

According to Kalm's link, I'm at triple the median household income for my zip code.
I'm going to start wearing a top hat and monocle and smoke cigarettes from a holder, like Ivytalk.

Medical Lake doesn't sound enticing. Perhaps some rebranding could help boost that income...

I flew over Washington one time, on the way to Vancouver, BC.

It's a combination of retired air force, biker gangs, and right wing christian conservatives. "Murica!"
The waters were rumored once to be medicinal and they had a resort and rail line to it from Spokane in the early 20th century.

On the EC(b), we just call those places "Springs" like Warm Springs, Ga.

Isn't that where the state nuthouse is?

That's where OUR state nuthouse is.

Yes...Eastern State Hospital and Lakeland Village for the developmentally disabled are both located there. They also used to have a UW primate research facility...

Why "broken"? If you don't like it, don't move there. The situation there is no different than any state/region.
$700,000 separated by 24 miles:

Broken because the daily work force (Nurses and Service people) have to commute 2 hours every day
It's eventually going to destroy itself
I'll be long gone by then
but it's coming

So just like they've had to do for all 26 years I've lived here. When should I expect the demise? About the time the New World Order takes over?

Look my brother loves it too... He's a developer
and BTW D.C. is still $30K a yr. median lower than Bellevue ($75K vs $105K) big difference

I don't love it either, but it aint "broke".
And those numbers are deceiving. I've never been to WA but isn't Bellevue really just a part or suburb of Seattle? Meaning comparing "DC" to Bellevue is misleading. Median income in Bethesda, MD is $150,000 and I can tell you that if you make $150,000 you can't live in a nice house unless you inherited it or bought it 24 years ago.

That will buy you a few years maybe. How you can stand it is beyond me; Bend was already a shithole decades ago.

I drive by a nice little brick house on a hill every day, in Silver Spring. It went up for sale. 3br/2.5bath, $899,00!?! Holy fuck! Same thing in Baltimore, with less hum of the beltway, WELL under half that. Like $275-330 range.
I'll keep the 40-120minute thirty mile commute.
