Radicalized Turkish Muslims probably follow the “anyone who does not follow their "prophet" must be converted or beheaded“ line...which is a shame, because Turkey’s modern founder created a republic that was strongly secular in its government dealings...

The current president is turning to the radicals for support to stay in power...

I heard it may have been a domestic dispute that drove the Turk over the edge.

Turkey is historically secular, but Erdogan’s AKP party is harder to classify. Some Islamist aspects, some nationalist/Ottoman. Sadly, it’s become more authoritarian, especially since the failed coup a couple of years ago.

On numerous occasions I’ve been on my way to a mosque to shoot everybody when suddenly I see a Prius with one of those stickers and I suddenly decided to go to church instead

Substitute the names Duterte or Ceausescu for Erdogan and it reads the same
