Trayvon Martin...Pwns wrote:I would have stopped at social media. In most of the '00s you didn't have a Facebook account unless you had a college student email, only more tech savvy teens hung out on MySpace, hardly anyone knew what Twitter was, and Snapchat and Instagram didn't exist.
It was all probably inevitable after social media became ubiquitous, but I would argue the one event that lit the powder keg was the shooting of Trayvon Martin in 2012.
What's funny to me is before that social media's legacy was helping people stay connected with others they didn't see often and helping organize protests in the Arab Spring but now it's being seen (you could say fairly) as being a source of outrage and echo chambers and the bane of democracy.
Zimmerman not being a hero doesn't make Martin a victim.Chizzang wrote:Trayvon Martin...Pwns wrote:I would have stopped at social media. 1) Zimmerman / completely disregard direct orders from the police to "not engage"
2) Zimmerman / stalk the kid almost a quarter mile
3) Zimmerman / then "defend yourself" by shooting him
![]()
Yeah, nothing to see there ...
Then Zimmerman goes on to prove a half dozen times over the next decade
that he's simply a piece of sh!t human being
Domestic violence charges
Pointing loaded weapon at girlfriend
![]()
Gee I can't understand why that would bother Americans
So what exactly makes him NOT a victim?Pwns wrote:Zimmerman not being a hero doesn't make Martin a victim.Chizzang wrote:

But even if we give a pass on the people that, that was followed up by Michael Brown (whose killer was exonerated by a DOJ who was out for his blood) and that shitshow at Mizzou.
It’s Rogan’s Show...so what? Most neutral, informative and best podcast out there.Silenoz wrote:

My man crush on Rogan is almost as big as Chizzy’s for Sam Harris.
By the transitive principle, that means...klam has a man-crush on Chizzy!Chizzang wrote:You realize Joe Rogan and Sam Harris are friends right..?kalm wrote:

For beating the hell out of the guy whom apparently was threatened so little that he continued talking to Rachel Jeantel rather than call the police or have her call the police?Grizalltheway wrote: So what exactly makes him NOT a victim?
Of course it all makes perfect sense to you...Pwns wrote:For beating the hell out of the guy whom apparently was threatened so little that he continued talking to Rachel Jeantel rather than call the police or have her call the police?Grizalltheway wrote: So what exactly makes him NOT a victim?

Trayvon Martin was the same product as the kid who shot up the school in Florida.JoltinJoe wrote:He just bought Skittles and a can of Iced Tea. And the hoodie. Dangerous kid.Grizalltheway wrote: So what exactly makes him NOT a victim?

The district was trying to lower how many kids they suspended/kicked out of school and Martin was always on the wrong side of the law.
Kid was a thug. If it wasn't Zimmerman, it was going to be someone else.

Rogan's podcast is legit, and that includes when he has nutjobs like Alex Jones on.kalm wrote:It’s Rogan’s Show...so what? Most neutral, informative and best podcast out there.Silenoz wrote:
