Whatever, Mortimer. As opposed to an anarcho-syndicalist. BTW, how have those Trump tariffs affected your farm? The Donald is well on his way to losing every farm state. He’s on track to become the Alf Landon of the 21st century. He’ll carry just Mississippi and Alabama.

Cynicism is not exactly bitterness...
Look we've seen similar behavior with American tribalism in the recent past

there is nothing new in my observation above
There's also nothing incorrect (as best as I can tell)

That’s a bunch of elegant word salad but you’re still ripping off Hillary Clinton - who more succinctly paraphrased it by just calling them a basket of deplorables

But you both miss the mark (wildly)

It wasn’t Trump’s tribe that got him elected. It was ultimately voters who previously cast votes for Barack Obama who swung things for Trump

If it had just been the tribal (deplorable) voters, we’d be calling Hillary President right now

I don’t *think* Trump is going to gather as many of those votes this time

I would be willing to bet that if Biden wins the Democrat nomination and doesn't croak before the election he will trounce Trump. Not absolute certainty. But enough to make me say I'd be willing to bet.

The big question is whether Biden can win the Democrat nomination.

Also, if I had to bet straight up I'd bet Sanders would beat Trump as well. And I'd say ANY Democrat that gets nominated has at least a 50:50 shot. The majority of voters are in an "anybody but Trump" mode right now.

No. I'll make my call when the time is right...like I did in 2016 when I predicted a Trump victory in July. :coffee:

Question: Do you think Trump is going to become more likeable between now and November 2020? Otherwise, the Dems only lose this if they nominate someone equally as unlikeable.

You could be right. If it's Harris, Booker, or some other sleazy establishment politician, they might be in trouble. I think Biden is charismatic enough to beat Trump unless the progressives completely revolt. Biden isn't going to change much from what Trump has done and he's not a complete asshole.

The now Democrat-controlled House of Representatives introduced a bill to eliminate the Electoral College. Since they didn't win the last presidential election under the rules that have existed for almost 250 years, they now want to change the rules. Below is the explanation of why this is a very, very bad idea.

In an infinite wisdom, the founders created the Electoral College to ensure all of the States were fairly represented. One or two densely populated one-party regions must not speak for the whole nation.

The following should finally put an end to the argument as to why the Electoral College is vital. Share this. It needs to be widely understood.

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.

- Trump won 3,084 of them.

- Clinton won only 57.

There are 62 counties in New York State.

- Trump won 46 of them.

- Clinton won only 16

Clinton won the national popular vote.

In the five counties that encompass New York City (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond and Queens), Clinton received 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won four of these counties; Trump won Richmond County [Staten Island].)

Therefore just four counties of New York City alone, accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

The five counties total only 319 square miles.

The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.

When a country that consists of almost four million square miles of territory, it would be dangerous and ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles in a big city should always dictate the outcome of national elections.

Large, densely populated, Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) DO NOT and SHOULD NOT speak for all of the United States.

And It's well documented that those 319 square miles are where the so many of our nation's problems foment.

If it had just been the tribal (deplorable) voters, we’d be calling Hillary President right now

I don’t *think* Trump is going to gather as many of those votes this time
I'm talking about today not three years ago...

and I don't care who says they aren't voting for Trump
I call bullsh!t on the polls and I think he wins easy with "nobody" voting for him
So those independent voters who say they don’t vote for Trump ..... who do they hate again?

blacks
browns
jews
immigrants
the poor

I thought it was just Trump’s tribe that hate them... who knew all those independents were so full of hate for everybody
