There are many different ways to "know" a person...

I have experienced personally and witnessed first hand
Police officer actions that are disgraceful and completely unnecessary too many times
I watched 3 cops beat a 16 yr old 150 lb kid unconscious in Baltimore
for calling them assholes and giving them the finger (1981)
and I have a half dozen more examples if you care to hear them

I have also had good experiences...
and I believe it is overall a difficult job
and I have respect for the men and women who try their damnedest to do it right

but it is a position of authority and power (these things are different and it offers both)
and that is an intoxicating blend
irresistible to the marginally insane and psychologically broken

Filtering them out has proven difficult

85% of them are douchebags.

When good cops start arresting other cops on the spot for violating people's rights.......then and only then will a lot of us change our mind about their mostly grotesque behavior.

Cops are like doctors.

85% of them do good work, some under tedious circumstances. That other 10- to 15% really, really suck and need a severe arse-kicking and attitude adjustment. The bad apples can bring a PD down ...

Yes, I want a link or video showing a cop violating somebody's rights and a decent cop goes over stops it from happening, arrests the cop doing it and let's the guys being harassed go.

I thought you were talking about cops being arrested for criminal activity in general

I don’t know examples of this internecine police warfare you want to see -

But I’ve seen a sh1tload of on-the-street discipline for heavy handedness

As for harrassment... just about every single criminal I ever locked up was 1) innocent and 2) harassed by me (according to them)
