So, it's now out that the Pensacola shooter was a Saudi student in secondary training for the Saudi air force.

Saudis get three more Americans.

I used to work with the Royal Saudi AF. They'd send over a group to learn how to use radios. They usually cared more about getting drunk and visiting strip clubs.

Well, that and buying loads of soap, shampoos, TVs and other goods and shipping them all home.

We used to have Saudi JMOs sit in for random weeks during Marine TBS (6-month school for boot LTs).

They had even less military bearing than the USNA grads. It was kind of alarming. Entitled and just didn't GAF. Also in really poor physical shape. We always let them peel off and do their own thing during PT because they couldn't hang with us.

I never got the sense that they wanted to kill us though.

John, this isn't a "Trump" problem. This is a long-standing issue that predates him by decades. Try to control your #TDS for just a bit, mmm kay?

The Hawaiian shooter was a Sailor undergoing disciplinary actions and in anger management therapy. But still had his guns.

Just got done reading a book on William Leahy, FDR's Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs during WWII, and then Truman's for his first term. Good read. He was a bit of an isolationist, was very much opposed to Truman getting us involved in anyway in the Middle East (whether it was the oil or Israel). Good photo in the book of FDR hosting a member of the house of Saud on a destroyer on his way back from Tehran or Yalta. Let's blame Truman for all of this.
